Not much to discuss. The quirks provide minor bonuses to the stock loadouts, but nothing particularly impressive. The R60 looks like it has potential to be a wee little gauss sniper, and the R60L might be able to mount some heavy energy weapons, but its nothing that doesn't already exist on other chassis.

Was hoping to see more drastic quirks. Seems like they really played it safe.

Like

-AC/20 Cooldown +40%
-AC/20 Range +15%

(No, this would not be OP, it would be fun, you'd run out of ammo very fast. And to compensate, you'd take more ammo and less (or no) lasers)

Or on another:
-Machine Gun ROF + 30%
-Machine Gun Range +30%

Or something amazingly fun like
-Small Laser Range +200%

may have to swap around my planned builds to better suit the chassis quirks (planned the R63 to be the MG one but will now swap with the R60 which i had planned to keep the AC10 on, the 60L i was already planning SPLs and an AC5 so that's still good to go) but that's about all. really wish i could keep the ac20 but can;t cram enough ammo in to use it decently.

Eh, I'll have to play the Urbanmech before I can say for sure. Have they stated what the engine cap will be? From the NGNG video it looks like they'll top out at either 106KPH or 117ish, assuming they maxed the engines in that video.

20% range and velocity for the AC/20 isn't too bad. I'm sure once you swap that Standard 60 for an XL and all that you might be able to work the R60L as a nice little brawler.

Personally, I liked the build NGNG had going on the R60 with 1xLPL, 1xMPL, 4xMG. That could be fun.

*shrugs* I guess we'll all see tomorrow....

Yeah, all the quirks are pretty safe for the "stock purists" and the "comp-meta" crowd; can benefit both but not encourage either.

I would have loved a 40% kick to the stock AC loads, but something tells me that not everyone is comfortable with 2 tons of ammo and only a small laser to keep you safe in dark alleys.

The urbanmech was never meant to be fast. In the battletech table top game, they were literately cannon fodder. I somehow doubt much is going to change in the hands of the average mech pilot. I suspect that most 'Foddermech, is stil going to be fodder mech. It going to take a really unique build and pilot skill to make it worth while.

In the end the Urbie comes down to the following:

-16.5t podspace @XL180 (106kph) [At least that's what a spider gets with the 180 :P ]
- 0-4 JJs
- plenty hardpoints for a trashcan
- 360° Twist that ensures that you can just torso twist by spinning around like a maniac
- it's tinier than a Spider

Considering the high weapon mounts I guess it will at least qualify as "playable" if you spend some CBills on upgrades, but not going to rock your socks off. As with every "meh" Mech: good players will deliver some pain in them, average players will die horribly most of the time.

I can't wait to start stomping on urban mechs tonight.

And I already look forward to getting my own in a few months. I want one to mount the LB-10 and as many small pulses as it can carry (or, alternatively, just boat MLs), another to mount either a PPC or LPL, and another w UAC5, AC10 or AC20...

When do new mechs usually appear on Smurfy?

only one i've seen used in combat got 3 rounds off before the giant foot squished it, not much you can do with the Ac20 one but take the stock engine so I think few will keep the boom stick

If they had put in the 65-95 engines and Left the the UrbanMech with Default Formual Engine (Max would have been 85 [60*1.4=84 gets bump to a 85 rating) That would we would have seen quirks in the 40-60% ranges. But due to the fact it does get a max of a 180 Engine (Kitfox Speed) which is 2.11 times Faster that it normally would have been which would be about 48.2kps with speed tweet.

You could say the UrbanMech has a Engine Quirk.

Those quirks look nice! I really like them.

I'll keep the AC20 in the 60L for sure and probably arm the 60 with 4 machine guns.
I have no idea yet what to do with the 63. Can't wait till we see the Urbie on Smurfy's Mechlab.

First of all... "UrbenMech", lol :D
Also, the only Urbie is the stock Urbie-swapping 1 heatsink for some ammo is acceptable.
