Please excuse if this is copypasta from an earlier time on the forums, but I am curious. IYO what are your favorite battlemechs? I will start this study with my own personal favorites, then incorporate everyone else's picks into a tournament bracket after I have reached 50+ non-duplicate choices, or waited an entire week for others' votes. The 'mechs with the most votes will be represented in the tourney.

You may pick your favorites based on any criteria of your choosing. ie: most powerful, fastest, coolest looking, you decide. Either way, place them from top to bottom from greatest to least.

NOTE: only 10 'mechs per person. Duplicates will give a 'mech higher standing in the initial brackets. As this continues, I will continue to disclose the decision-making process. Until then, know your picks will be included in the poll.

THIS IS NOT RESTRICTED TO MECHWARRIOR OR CLAN DESIGNS. THIS INCLUDES EVERY BATTLEMECH FROM THE BATTLETECH UNIVERSE

My picks:

Shadow Cat

Highlander IIC

Battlemaster
Posted Image
Dragon

Omen

Kodiak

Timber Wolf

Mad Dog

Raptor II

For me, its got to be the Fafnir.
Everything that come in to the range of the two Heavy Gauss Rifles will be torn to shreds ;)

MSK 6S Mackie!

All other battle mechs are merely the sons of the father. Without the Mackie, there would be no other BattleMechs!

The Raptor II, which is the one you're talking about, is canon, so there shouldn't be a problem with it. However, there's no canon variant with that armament (and those weapons weigh too much for the chassis anyway), so the closest you'll get is the RPT-3X with two Streak SRM-6s and two ER Medium Lasers.

By the way Trogus, that Battlemaster picture is awesome. I wish they looked like that in the games.

ty Lash. It's actually just a skin art design for Sarna's BLR-1G picture. And a mighty fine one at that.

Prior to 3050....Battlemaster
Post 3050 to Clan....Warhammer
Clan Tech....Marauder

All have INSANE modification possibilities but are all respectable on the field of battle.

Annihilator (Self-made variant dropping all optional equipment, heat sinks, and two tons of armor for 4 LBX AC/20s and eight tons of ammo. Modified variant number is ANH-2AS)

Posted Image
Legionnaire, you just can't argue with it
Posted Image
the LongBow 12C, for all my Missileboat needs
Posted Image
For personal preference and fighting style, the Great Turtle (It doesn't appear until well after the timeline we're in, but 45 tons of armor is hard not to like)
Posted Image
The Hauptmann, for its sheer attitude
Posted Image
and...those are all I can think of, but the Annihilator's my favorite of favorites

Gotta make my say here, sorry for the double post. Your Fafnir doesn't compare to the magnificent death inherent that is the Annihilator. The Annihilator is the pinnacle of brawler 'mechs, and at close range it reaps even the fiercest of opponents. I've faced Fafnirs with full Reactive armor, and it only took three volleys to crush them beneath me steel-plated boot. Sure, the Heavy Gauss is formidable, but when you're face down on the ground from taking a belt of four CLBX AC/20s to the chassis, they don't do much.
