Had trouble getting it to run on my computer a few years ago - would have loved to try it. I might jump in one of these days.

That's only your opinion, and there is a thread for LL, in off topic, this is the general section for M.W.O.

MW:LL was pretty much stillborn. It never had a considerable playerbase to begin with.

for all it's "amazingness" (and lack of things like a mechlab, if I recall)

I played MW:LL yesterday. It was fun, and there was no frustrating matchmaker to deal with either.

I really enjoyed Mw:LL like 4-5 years ago, sadly it's pretty much dead now a days.

Before MWO was released it was pretty common to see 50-100 MWLL players or so (maybe more on weekends?).

Not bad for a mod that, at the time, required players to have purchased Crysis Wars (it can now be played free).

I'm assuming you never played then, because it had some pretty good moments.

You don't really need a match maker when your playerbase never got much over 50 in the first place at it's peak. Simply the game wasn't that good.

It was pretty good, it just didn't get much attention.

You have played it, correct?

the game is empty most of the time. But when there is people to fight, ho man... That's one of the best game about Battletech you can find.

You guys definitly should give it a try. Just a warning thought. You are not allowed there to say MWO have some good stuff, you will be most of the time be counter right after that and even insulted from time to time.

Wasn't that good? What? It is better than MWO and better than Mechwarrior 4. The playerbase didn't grow because...

a. It required a purchase of Crysis
b. It later required a purchase of Crysis Warhead

however, nowadays, it requires... no purchase at all!

The paywall is what prevented a lot of players from getting into it. It is hard to coax other people to try a mod for a game that they otherwise wouldn't have played. Fortunately for MW:LL, they have done fantastic work and it is worthy of everyone playing it.

That's because MWO has 40% faster Ballerinas.

Use a stock mech with a small engine and no efficiencies...things get pretty slow. That game doesn't give you half again their stock agility.
