Greetings MechWarriors,

International traffic that is being routed through Los Angeles or Miami may experience connectivity issues due to a potential cut fiber in a major node along their path to our servers.
We are still looking into the exact cause of this issue, how it may further affect services, and when the issue might be resolved.

At this time, any players who are not routing through L.A. or Miami from outside the Continental U.S.A. should not experience any issues related to this.

If you are located within Australia, South America, or the Pacific Region, please feel free to post in this thread with any information you might feel is relevant, such as any changes you might be seeing with your connection.

We will keep everyone updated as information becomes available.

Quick test game from Western Australia, through Westnet / iinet.
Clearly not routing through L.A or MIami, best connection I have had in weeks!
Ping sat firmly on 275, and had no skipping or ghosting mechs.

Some of us have been experiencing connectivity issues since the last server move.
Maybe this will help rectify the situation.

We need Oceanic, Asian and European servers.

They're not expensive, and even small Indie games have them now.

Send a Tweet to Russ if you want to get his attention on this.

While I would like better oceanic pings I would rather not break up the community like has happened in WOT which in a word "sucks".

Best connection in ages; however it normally clears up this time of night anyway.

I'll try in an earlier timeslot tomorrow, but it has been unplayable when I get home from work until just before midnight (reported).

amazing how terrorists truly could damage our society by simply cutting a few internet and power lines.

Last night (Australian Tuesday evening AEST (Canberra)) I was experiencing some really bad lag issues/ rubber banding effect in my 60km/hr Banshee. Yep, rubberbanding in an assault! :)

Couldn't literally hit the side of a hill while maneuvering. I was wondering what was happening at the time so after 2 games gave up for the night. At least this explains the possible cause.

Will see how things go tonight.

Cheers!

I was playing well yesterday, but after some point I cannot even login (MWO servers down, maintenance?). So I went to another game, which worked online pretty well (their servers are in the midwest US). I will try to login to MWO again today.

Hi Jon, did we confirm if the issue is really fixed? While my ping is hovers at 250ms once in a while, I'm seeing ping spikes of up to 1000ms during startup and also in battle. It's getting me really frustrated.

I also question if this issue is already fixed. My ping was about 200 before this incident, and now it is floating around 300.
Do we still have any kind of problem?
