Critical Damage Warning - When?

I'm noticing that on my high-alpha builds, there is a point where even the Dire Whales back off. I'm thinking its usually when they get that "WARNING CRITICAL" voice from Betty.

I would like to make that happen more often. So, what triggers it?

1) you lose all your armor on a torso?
2) you lose your armor and interior turns yellow, orange, or red?
3) something else?

Losing all armor on any section.

Not losing all armor, when a component gets critted and takes damage, even if it's not destroyed. I somehow once got a side torso to dark yellow before the crit warning showed up so that's my evidence for my argument.

It gets triggered when a vital component (CT, Head, etc) is below a certain health % but I don't know what % that is.

I think it's about 25%.

I think both triggers might be true, so you get the warning when components are damaged/destroyed, but also when the component's health drops below a certain margin (at least 50% by my estimate). Purely based on game-play experience mind you, I have no PGI statements to back this up.
