What would it be like, if drops points were random for each lance or maybe each player? Hot drops aren't always accurate after all. So what would it do, how would it play out?

Hmmmm, with ttk and alpha where it is, slow assault solo dropped at the frontlines at start to wreck scouts, or at the rear to not be nascar'd instantly... hmmm...
I'd say it would cause more problems, tbh. Full lance maybe but solo would be QQville.
We need larger maps and choosable drop points with a 1-300meter discrepancy on the x and y axis for it to work.

It would be "messy".
Some drops would be awesome, some would be hellish. All would be interesting.
Possibly put it in as a private match option but I couldn't see it being use that much in public queues.

That would definitely discourage me from dropping in an assault, there are already bad assault spawns but with something quick ( for a fattie ) like blr or Zeus I can often get myself out of it and provide some suppression for one or two of my less fortunate fellows.
True random ( as in no fixed points at all ) I doubt a bad situation could be recoverable very often.

Quite possibly the worst idea since Ghost Heat
Which means Paul will put it into the game ASAP.

I can see being in an assault lance that drops almost on top of an enemy light / medium lance. Sure to be fun times for the assault drivers........

Why not choosing where to drop?
Give us a grid, and the possibility to choose a point near a border (every team should have a proper border)
It's BT-ish, so it's good.

I don't know if completely random would work very well since matches could be decided by MM way too frequently but for sure most maps should have different sets of balanced spawn points, specially the big ones like Alpine, so battle condition and engagement zones change from battle to battle.

It would be nice to use more than 20% of maps like Alpine

It would only make sense in a deathmatch game mode. Completely random makes little sense in a team mode.
However, what could work is if they set up multiple pre-defined drop zones and then randomly pick which one each side gets. This could help lead to other areas of the actually being used more often and would have my support (so long as its not like on some current maps where the assault lance gets left to themselves too far away from the other members and destroyed early).

Yes I never said my idea was a good one, I just wanted to see reactions =P
Now I believe true random is definitely a poor idea, however, maybe with certain coding ensuring a minimum distance from one another (since two opposing dropships aren't going to want to be near one another), it may make it more tolerable and interesting.
In terms of discouraging assault play, I don't mind that too much, they'd still be playable, and since they drop together they still have a chance of surviving a badish drop.
