Heh carried a LOT of pug matches in mah urbies, and amusingly the times when more than one of us carried, it was other urbie pilots. I can't recall a single match over the weekend where an Urbie or two didn't top the scoreboard.

A lot of those where with Mr. PurpleNinja above. Good times.

Just checking, after all the QQ about it being a waste of time, but:

It seems that those who know how to Urbie, not only do well in them, but apparently, can carry harder in them, than a lot of people manage in their Assaults and Heavies.

And more importantly? There are rampant rumours of *gasp* FUN spontaneously breaking out in matches by people using Urbanmechs.

Much OP, must nerf naow?

;)

Ummm, when you play that many games of course you're going to get some good ones. I guarantee that in a Raven-2x or Firestarter they would have done better.

but would they have as much fun doing it? Doubtful.

Thus. Urbie wins.

No, they would have more fun, cuz they wouldn't have to deal with a half-baked mech.

Odd. Pretty sure all those players in 627s post were talking about how much fun they were having. But I'm sure a metalord like yourself knows better.

I was only killed by an Urbanmech once.

And it was a teammate, when i was in a recently bought jenner... I just ran around a corner and probably spooked the urbie, which caused him to prematurely ********* all of his firepower into my oversized central torso and turn me into a donut.

I actually was worried earlier today I had gotten taken out in my Stormcrow by an urbie. There was one in the group of 4 mechs I was fighting, but I noted the name, and with a sigh of relief, it was another Stormcrow that did me in.

I still have to grin when I think of a certain match during the group challenge.
Started with the usual "So what's the plan?" and the also usual "just kill em and stuff" and finally the best plan of em all, "protect our Urbie overlord at all costs".
It was a tough, lrm heavy match, but we and our Urbie prevailed.
Best moment: Urbie is somewhat out of cover, an lrm Salvo arches foreword him, a nearby Awesome looks up, looks looks at the Urbie and then slowly puts himself between both taking the full Salvo. Yes he was truly awesome.

But can your Raven or FIrestarter do a 360-degree jump while performing a 360-degree torso twist in the opposite direction? :P

The Urbies are definitely scrappy mechs when driven well. Yesterday I got into a 1v1 with a good Urbie driver while I was in a Thud that turned into a serious close range tango. It was one of the best fights I've been in for a while. I won the duel, but the Urbie got his pound of flesh. :D

You look at the challenge board and how the figures work out for the UM-60L, your going to be hard pushed to beat those scores even piloting a twink mech, like the firestarter.
