Have you tried reapplying thermal paste? How about using some top-end thermal compound like MX-4, IC Diamond, Shin Etsu, Noctua? By "basic heatsink" do you mean the stock one that came with the CPU? Maybe you need a slight (cheap) upgrade.
When you say i5 3.3GhZ, do you know if: the CPU is a K-series unlocked chip? Which model number it is? Which architecture it is?

Sir: Far and away the most informative thing here is about the grapics card, as It's guaranteed to be an axel-fan model, leaving it's heat in the case.
You might want a look at this: http://www.tomshardw...ink,3053-5.html
Also: Thanks for the threadjack.

well I just looked and based on PcPartPicker, there's 2 (or 3) possibilities:
2500 (or k, although considering it's a H Series Board & No Oc, I'm guessing Non K)
3550
if it'll fit in the case, I Recommend this:
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus 76.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($25.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Thermal Compound: Arctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver 3.5g Thermal Paste ($7.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Case Fan: Corsair SP120 57.2 CFM 120mm Fan ($10.98 @ OutletPC)
Case Fan: Corsair SP120 57.2 CFM 120mm Fan ($10.98 @ OutletPC)
Total: $53.69
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Thanks for the assist, I'll definetly check out that cpu heatsink. I'm a little leary about dealing with the thermal paste since I've never switched out a cpu before. Speaking of my cpu, I found it's box- i5-2500k LGA1155.

Hold up. You've got a 2500K in that machine? And it's got a standard factory heatsink on it?
Please forgive me for one moment...
WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? WHY DO YOU OWN A PORSCHE AND DRIVE 5 UNDER THE SPEED LIMIT?
Anyway...
Switching out the heatsink and thermal compound is easy. Open the case, look at how it's mounted, unmount it, clean the CPU (they make cleaning kits for this if you're leery of using isopropyl alcohol or acetone), apply proper amount of new thermal compound, mount new heatsink. I'm sure there are a hundred youtube videos about this, too.

and to top it off, it's not a Z Series Board, just a Basic Low End H Series Board *Headshakeofshame.gif*

Well, if I ever want to upgrade the stock cpu heatsink, I'm going to need to replace the mobo. The ram slots are directly on top of the cpu, so no room for anything larger than stock. http://www.biostar-u...p?S_ID=525#spec Also, shopping for a cheap mobo that still supports 2nd gen processors is a pain.

im running a
7878 vid card
i7 3770 (unlocked, but never ever overclocked)w/ STOCK sinks
16gb ram
samsung pro ssd drives
on asus sabertooth board
with a 900 watt PS
all inside a CM storm case... with STOCK fans ...
running if full settings (i can provide a shot of how it runs if u like)
no issues, no overheating, no problem...
so i dont understand y u would OH... and i dont know what the equivalent of your CPU to an i7 3770 but, i have no need to OC the vid or cpu and everything runs well in full settings....
conclusion..
its probably the way your cpu cooler is sitting on the cpu.. or the termal paste or your case....
