I would love it if the AS7-K was the first experiment for defensive only quirks. Something along the lines of +40 armor to each torso and +20 structure to left and right torso. Though if it came to inflating hardpoints, I think the K should get 3 ballistic because it can't/shouldn't match the BH for energy or the S for missile.

research the mechs you buy. Expect some mechs to really stink.

The K is supposed to be a sniper mech though remember. missiles dont make a whole lot of sense on a sniper.

You can't really snipe with the Gauss on an Atlas. You can try, but draw enough magnetic attention to that torso anyways.... and that torso explodes even faster.

Plus it doesnt get missile quirks. It gets ballistic and energy quirks. So a second ballistic slot makes more sense.

Quirks can be reworked, but there's no real point in quirking a solo missile hardpoint for the most part.

What if the second ballistic slot was in the left torso? That would make it unique because it would be the only Atlas that could use dual gauss. I hardly think that would be overpowered either because the King Crab can already do that.

It won't happen. If you even read about my original post about hardpoint inflation, inflation ONLY happens in sections where a hardpoint exists. Putting hardpoints in other areas based on the stock builds simply does not occur (as of yet anyways).

That is why the hardpoint inflation is limited in scope.

I do, but I never bothered to buy an Atlas-K because of its hardpoints. Grinded the D-DC, D, S, and RS just fine (although the lattermost sucked because I was kinda bad at building mechs then in Open Beta).

Problems with hardpoints?

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...5a3a413f7cef38e

Want a little more speed and/or can't handle 4 weapon groups?

Meh.

Atlai in general do need toughness quirks, but I don't think hardpoints are the issue.

stacking missiles on an atlas makes you part of the problem, that fat ******* isn't meant to be pissing missiles downrange and hiding, it's meant to spearhead a push guns a-blazin' while it's teammates stream out from behind it and blitz the opponent.

Yes. that is why it was built with an LRM20 Stock. So it could only fight in close...

There is one thing i would like seen adressed:

The gauss rifle on the Atlas is critted too easily....cant count enough times it gets critted and i lost half of my FP just because some magical lucky hits laser hit on the cannon...

With the paperdoll ST almost full intact.

And add in double capable AMS and probably +20 armour centre torso - and we have an interesting Atlas - different, but viable playstyle without the need to add any hardpoints !

EDIT: Other Atlases dish out pain. The Atlas-K can take the pain.
