Let the vat brats have the ability to "unlock" equipment hardwires on their "under-performing" mechs...

But if you do, give IS the ability to change hardpoint location, type and number on IS "under-performing" chassis. While you're at it let IS change max engine rating at will, or whether a chassis can carry ECM or JJ capability a how much...call it build you own hero...

See how that works, you make your wish, and the IS makes theirs

Cool. Then we can go back to pre nerfed clan weapons and no quirks on IS mechs as well.

Should I be butthurt too. They didn't ask the question I had. I wonder how many questions were sent in. Sounds like some folks were being GREEDY, asking a bunch instead of just ONE. greedy *******... :(

That's right Almond.... you tell em! Greedy folks some are, and they just have the "want it all" syndrome on one more thing!

I signed up for a twitch account(which is something I don't do) so I too could ask Russ one very simple question several town hall meetings ago. It was regarding IMO, and some others opinion, just how poor the rewards and earnings really are in this game and if PGI had any intention of increasing the earnings to reduce the grind just a bit for ALL PLAYERS. NGNG mod's, took it upon their selves to completely change the wording of my Question, leaving out the part about the grind being a very painful one, and the direct question to Russ if they plan on increasing earnings for each match played for ALL PLAYERS, or not.

All they did by asking "their" question instead of the one I asked, is give Russ the chance to tell of some "bright" future coming to us in this game, instead of honestly addressing a issue that makes for a very dim/dark past and present when it comes to the lack of earnings we have all endured. With those poor earnings we have all endured comes very poor game play from many players, with one goal, to "get the C-bills at any cost" even at their own teams expense. The earnings and lack of depth in this game breed this type of play style... just the nature of the beast. I see this behavior in events, weekend challenges, and everyday that I play the game, which is becoming less and less as of late.

All of the "spinning" and boasting of things to come to help keep players interested did nothing to address the real issue at hand regarding my question, changing the wording of of my question, taking it as a chance to do so really told me a lot about the PGI's intentions and most likely just where they intend to take this game, and this bright future Russ spoke of after my "fake" question was asked to him.

Bottom line, they changed the wording of my question, till it wasn't the question I had asked at all... they made it into their question, regarding the new player experience and asked Russ what he planned on doing in the future to keep them interested in the game. I called them out on it as soon as they asked the question... they ignored my chat that I typed until after Russ had gone off the air. They said they was sorry about it, they didn't mean too do it, and that they was short staffed on that town hall meeting, etc. etc. I pretty much told them that I wouldn't recommend anyone to listen in on the their broadcast's if this is how they do things. Once again one of the Mod's told me that it was a mistake and they don't change the wording of the questions, it must of been a "misunderstanding".

I have listened in on only one town hall after that one, and that is the one they changed the format over to taking each question and what a person types into chat or the forums and show's it on the screen to make sure they "get it right". Sounds like to me after reading the OP's post, Things are pretty much running how they want them to run on there. I didn't listen in last night, didn't have the time to do so. Sounds like listening in and asking questions are a waste of time if that is how NGNG wants to do things.

They were fairly clear at the release of the Clans that ES, FF, JJs, and other locked items would remain locked.

So you're fighting a very uphill battle here. And apparently not getting anywhere.

It would, you could sword and board with 2 RT mounts, and the RA, at least.
Could fudge the "G" I guess and move both leg E-points to one pod.

The fudging seems unlikely so far.

I still think the geometry needs a look. Here are my crappy GIMP mockups below:

Truth to tell though, unlocking engines is the impassable barrier, IMO. And shifting the first 10 DHS all into the engine, no matter what has other issues.... I just wish that the first 10 DHS were trewdubs, on all chassis. Would help a lot of Lights, IMO.

For moving all 10 dubs to the engine, I haven't yet seen any OP builds that it would enable so the only "difficulty" at this time would be editing the base chassis for Clan light omnis to remove their hardwired external DHS.

Making the external 10 sinks be Trudubs without making all external sinks that way might require MWO to classify heatsinks differently. Right now it's either an engine sink or an external sink, with no in-between.

Doesn't matter what he says or doesn't say, the whining isn't going to stop, so his stand on it is to ignore it.

Like I said, I agree with you, he should say SOMETHING on the subject.

While you're right in general, OmniMechs already get more choices than battlemechs.

According to who? Battlemechs get significantly more choices than omnimechs...the few choices that omnimechs do get are different choices than IS mechs.

You wanted to ask 2 questions, but they only asked one of them. How is that editing anything? They simply chose to ask one of them.

Unlocking Endo/FF isn't going to happen. Hearing Russ say "No" won't make you feel any better,

I honestly don't feel the game was that much better looking in Closed Beta, if at all. The pic comparing Forest Colony here isn't really an example of lower quality graphics, just the unfortunate result of changes made to the maps visibility. It was a gameplay change that came about during some of the early phases of sniping popularity. I agree it looks awful though, I hate the "new" forest colony, hurts my eyes and it feels like you almost need night vision (but neither alternate vision mode really works).

Still I would have liked to see replies to the rest of your topics. Except RnR, that was and always will be a mistake to implement.

Its the first game where it was better in its beta stage then now. Repair and rearm I think should return these mechs are not free the most powerful war machines require up keep too keep them on the field. The whole " life is cheap battle mechs are not" gone right out the window now its the other way around. And yes totally avoided for like the 4th time. When I am trying too get word on why the sounds and graphics went down the toilet when clearly they were better in every regard. And will we see them back. I must of been the only one too question sounds because it is a huge part of mechwarrior seeing and feeling what you are doing the thud and sounds of mechs , the weapons fire , impact , explosions..now they sound dull while in close beta apart from a few sounded amazing. The graphics brought a good sense of feeling when destroying a mech, burning bits lay around the mechs as they were taken out. Great damage models, very high textures and other effects such as the ammo blow out and corkscrew LRMS. Surely by now they can make a return. If not I am cutting my losses and returning too Mechwarrior living legends. Cause for now it is the better game.

Some mechs never made any sense, even by table-top rules.

When building custom clan mechs using TT rules, I can't remember ever not putting ES+FF into any mech below 85 tons.

Wanna know why that is? Because FASA always avoided min-maxed idiocy to keep the TT interesting.

So my question was edited by NGNG for Russ to answer by removing my question about unlocking Endo Steel for clan mechs that need it and allowing us to remove JJ's from mechs with locked JJ's. I had asked 2 questions in the following post on page 2:

http://mwomercs.com/...dt/page__st__20

Yet NGNG chose to only ask the Clan AC question which Russ said they would improve by decreasing the time between shell so they care closer together. We'll see if that improves things once its implemented but at least its an attempt to improve them.

Anyways I think it is pretty poor that NGNG is editing the questions they are asking and presenting to Russ. Looks like PGI needs to start doing their own Town Halls if we can't trust NGNG not to edit questions behind the scenes like this I don't want them running the Town Halls that is just dirty.

very poor form on NGNG's part, though not surprising at all.....

whats funny is addressing the locked ES/DSH/CAP would more then likely alleviate the need for quirks on clan mechs for the most part

Unlocking Internals and Armor type are the only way to balance the Clan mechs. It just makes them a bit less manageable like a K2 or Jagermech, but that just points to other problems that are bandaged over with some goofy nerfs. It's not game-breaking or a break with Mechlab lore, it just allows all the Clan mechs to compete on an even field of play.

My favorite was when, at the end, people were screaming in chat asking about the return of Atlas Glowing Eyes.

Phil: "Russ do you see any more questions in chat"
Chat: "ATLAS GLOWING EYES, OR RIOT, ATLAS EYES, ATLAS GLOWING EYES PLS, ATLAS EYES? RETURN OF ATLAS EYES??
Russ: "Hmmm"
Chat: "ATLAS EYES? RETURN OF ATLAS EYES? ATLAS GLOWING EYES, OR RIOT, ATLAS EYES, ATLAS GLOWING EYES PLS,?
Russ: "Nope I think that's it, don't really see anything"

Facepalm...

IMO I personally feel that allowing some of these underdog mechs the choice of removing that equipment would be a good thing.

Yes.

But they wont. Far easier to just add quirks than doing all the other work needed.

Summoner still cries itself to sleep at night. All the goods get arms with 6+E.

Summoner gets...UAC quirk. Fantastic.

The game has been taking steps back for a long while now hardly surprising. This game is never going to be a whole lot more than a free to play game with tons of pay to have these items right away or grind away your life to get them but by the time you do they have already become obsolete.

It's why you should have other games that you can enjoy without paying money to continue playing them to get what you want out of the games. Why retail games will always be much better than these free to play games.

These are fun in spurts but you play it for too long at a time you start to wear down and see more flaws than you want to.

To the clanners. Let's make clans as powerful as they should be, but remove their target data sharing, so IS get's to play as a team, and Clans get to solo in superior mechs.
