I haven't played MWO since beta, and I am currently in the process of patching it to current. While this is going on I am also reading the helpful guides and posts from the MWO community. My question is, in random PUGs is tonnage balanced between the teams, or is it still a case of bigger=better like in the old days (notwithstanding useful lights like the Jenner)?
Edit: No Founder status shown in the forums anymore? Weaksauce.

You have to equip the badge ingame, and then it'll show up on the forums.

Tonnage is not balanced between teams, but weight class is, (for the most part).

Good to know on both counts, I'll change it once the game is finished updating.
Also, are crosstech builds allowed, i.e. Clan weapons on an IS chassis?

Cross-Tech builds are not allowed, and personally as someone who played too much MW:4 Mercs, I'm glad Cross-Tech isn't a thing in MW:O. ;)

Hi , no cross tech , would suggest to you to go to meta mechs to see what kinda builds are popular for reference, lower the mouse sensitivity, and create/copy/modify you'r user.cfg with the needed changes, all of wich can be found on this forum, or google it. HF.

There is no such thing as too much MW4: Mercs. :D

Truth be told, if there was cross tech, many Clanners would equip only IS weapons on their Clan mechs except when they want extra range.

Evidently there is a lot of competitive displeasure about the IS front loaded damage superiority over the Clans. There are quips about certain Clan advantages of course. But if you ask anyone who has played both, competitively they will always go to IS ACs. Far as aesthetic, they may be more open to either way.
