I think you might want to add something to the poll. "Only if they are keeping an eye on the thread due to interresting ideas being discussed there"
That means we get further motivation to discuss things they look at.

The "they only should if a suggestion will be taken further" option could be interpreted as that they have accepted the suggestion and they will develop from there.

I agree with Spleenslitta, since many ideas on this board are stupid or not a priority right now.

Yup. Take my Binary/Bombast Laser ideas thread. It's not a priority right now since those weapons gets released much later.
So it shouldn't get much attention right now.

Come to think of it.
Threads that gets these marks from the devs should receive more moderator attention to remove "this sucks" and "your ideas have no value" posts which inevitably show up.

Posts with sincere contributions to the discussions should be the ones that gets to stay.
That way the developers won't have waste their time reading through all the trash posts.

Some kind of feedback from devs could be nice once in a while, but a systematic pinning of read topics would be unfair and largely tell us nothing of their views. I voted no.

Thats your good right but why should we post page after page without even get any response? Could be frustrating with time!

I understand you completly.

I've seen great threads here where the players were very active discussing things.
Obsessing over the tiniest of details and the developers never even once said anything regardless of how long the thread stays on the top of the list.

As a matter of fact i'm starting to think this "feature suggestion" part of the forums is nothing more than a publicity stunt.

I wish PGI would utilize their community more. There are plenty of nerds willing to do a bit of pro-bono work to improve the game.

I'd put some intelligent and reasonable person in charge of pinning topics, not by classification of "good idea" or "bad idea", but by a different measure. For example, one guy posts in the suggestion forums "clans are OP", that'd be the bottom of the barrel. One guy posts "spawn-camping sucks, we need stronger dropships with XXX XXX weapons and damage", that'd be a mid-tier suggestion. The guy provided some numbers and specifics, but not many, and only for a single issue.

Now, I'd say the low-quality topics get pruned, the mid-quality stay where they are, and top-tier suggestions and plans are pinned.

IMO, here is a good example of a "top-tier" topic that would be pinned

http://mwomercs.com/...munity-warfare/

Of course, none of this is likely to happen. I just like posting to kill time at work :)

and don't worry, I'll be suggesting things until the game dies or until I get another job. Third shift gives you too much time to not post!

See the 'Return Atlas glowing eyes' thread for an example of that :P 800 people voted... Not a word from PGI....

Though, the last town hall showed they do read the suggestions thread... In regards to the new reinforcement wave coming, the Griffin they are adding was suggested in a thread in here. They also said they considered the Cataphract 1X, which was a mech I had suggested on here. (wish they would have gone with the 'Phract.... A missle centric mech won' t help in CW)

Also, their plans for MASC sound almost exactly like how I suggested they operate on here. May be a coincidence, or we just operate on the same logic train, though.
