The Griffin looks fun, but I am not sure that it could replace my Enforcer as my go-to medium. The Highlander looks decent too, you can mount three of those "OP" IS ERLLs.

You can already do that in the -732, albeit not with dual ballistics. In the Heavy Metal you can do it with dual ballistics. The new Highlander variant's only real advantage over the others is additional armor quirks.

Will the Griffin come with all these technologies already equipped?

SLDFRoyal Griffin was introduced in ]2751 and mounted an ER PPC, two SRM-6 launchers, and a Guardian ECM Suite. The heat-sinks were upgraded to double-strength models and the ammo was protected by CASE. To fit all this, the armor was changed to Ferro-Fibrous and the chassis was made of Endo-Steel. So endo, ferro, double heatsinks? What kind of reactor does this variant feature? XL?

Looks like no need for the WidowMaker hero mech :(. with the Dire Wolf W it has 2energy hard points CT and 1 energy in the head. just use prime arms and B Right torso and poof instant WidowMaker.

Still might make for some interesting builds, but I personally will wait and buy it for Cbills. The only one of these mechs I would pay for is the Griffin.

That Locust 3V is...odd. Tanky for a Locust with all those structure and armor buffs, very nimble with that turning buff, but weak in the weapons department. Two MG for 1.92 DPS after 20% RoF quirk and two medium pulse is about as good as it can do.

So while it doesn't straight-up obsolete the LCT-1V like I thought it would, and that's good, I'm also not really sure what to make of it. It's a Locust, though, so there's reason to celebrate.

You could do some kind of silly troll build with a single ERLL with an optimal range of 1080m, but other than that? 2xML or 2xMPL is too weak to be worth bothering with.. i guess you could do a Super-LPL (584m optimal)?

I wont buy it, no love for locusts.

Really ???? + 67 Armor on the Highlander ???!!!!?!???

Who is thinking about these quirks, realy are they supposed to be fair or are they implemented to get IS Overpowered.

You cannot change a chassis to a whole new Mech with these Quirks.

not new, some chassis already got double the firepower, double armor doesn't even surprise me anymore.

I'll tell you what though. Timber Wolves are better than the Highlander here so consider yourself lucky!

I'll tell you what though. I'll trade several mechstars of gargoyles for a single piece of that highlander.

the real question is, why +29CT armor? its a human shaped mech, and it can twist quite fine. Comparing CT sizes and hitboxes of a Nova and a highlander, makes me really wonder why those quirks are chosen like that. Oh wait, NVA got massive arm HP buffs, now if poeple only would choose to shoot at those arms instead of the omnipresent CT..

10 New Reinforcement 'Mechs are coming to the Gift Store on April 21st!

RELEASE DATE: April 21st, after the patch

Clans and Inner Sphere are both receiving some Reinforcements this time around.

3 Inner Sphere 'Mechs
7 Clan 'Mechs
These new Reinforcement 'Mechs will only be available through the Gift Store until June 16th, 2015, at which time they'll release for in-game purchase with MC and C-Bills.

Cool! Keep adding more variants, please. Here is a list of more missing ones:

Some variants were left behind. We hope they will be added someday.

- Catapult CPLT-K3 (upgraded K2, not much room for hardpoint maneuver)
- Commando COM-1C (unique variant with ballistics)
- Dragon DRG-1G (all energy + missile variant, still unique despite the Flame)
- Dragon DRG-5K or (even better) Dragon DRG-5K-DC (stock Command Console, so maybe ECM capability) - actually Grand Dragons, but...
- Hunchback HBK-4N (interesting ballistics + missiles variant)
- Hunchback HBK-5M (upgraded 4G, not much room for hardpoint maneuver)
- Jenner JR7-A (not going to happen, as 6 energy harpoints in one location would be weird)
- Cataphract CTF-3L (MASC!)
- Cicada CDA-3F (is it already 3052? because I want my jumping Cicada!)
- JagerMech JM6-B (created by MW2:M but sort of canonized ever since. JM with energy + missiles and no ballistics!)
- Raven RVN-1X (bulky and older EW equipment that could be replaced by ECM and Beagle, with some free tons for... armor?)
- Raven RVN-3X (1X with Triple Strength Myomer)
- Spider SDR-7M (upgraded 5V, not much room for hardpoint maneuver)
- Trebuchet TBT-5S (TBT with 4 missile hardpoints, but less tubes)
- Stalker STK-3Fb (Stalker with ECM! SLDF Royal exclusive, but the HGN-732b got in, so...)
- Locust LCT-1S, Locust LCT-1Vb, Locust LCT-1L, Locust LCT-3D (swarm!)
- Blackjack BJC-1DB, Blackjack BJ-3X (hardpoint conundrum)
- Blackjack BJ-2 (only in 3052...)
- Kintaro KTO-19b (SLDF Royal)
- Shadow Hawk SHD-2HB
- Wolverine WVR-7M
- Griffin GRF-1E, GRF-1DS
- Thunderbolt TDR-7M
- Victor VTR-9A, Victor VTR-9A1 (OMG, please!)
- Firestarter F59-S1 (stock ECM)
- Banshee BNC-3MC (BNC-3E with 1 more ballistics and 1 less energy?)
- Banshee BNC-3Q (imagine a BNC-3E without weapons in the right torso and 3 more ballistics in the left torso)
- Banshee BNC-5S (armed to the teeth, but only in 3053)

So weird to see people still whining like children because the Clans don't get super quirks...
I mean, I know that the current Clan quirks are a joke, but 90% of the mechs only need a 10%-15% quirk buff on their weapons, with some needing close-to-IS quirkage. The Clans are still so much better that they don't really need the IS level of quirking, if people can't see that after months of live play I don't know what to tell them.

I was doing an average of 400 damage in my Gargoyles before quirks, in what is supposedly the worst Clan mech in the game. That's almost as much average damage as my Victors, and they're quirked out to hell. Are people really going to keep whining until this game becomes a grind to the superior Clan mechs? This is getting ridiculous.

On one hand, the IS are getting super-fast PPCs and faster-firing lasers. On the other hand, like half the Clan mechs can laser vomit while the other half can ballistic boat. Only a very select few IS mechs can have over 8 lasers, or even 6! And ballistics are too heavy to boat for the IS. I hope that people actually try a few IS mechs out and watch their damage fall before it's too late and the devs overbuff the Clans because demand is too high...

How many boat ballistics? They are not quite easy mode, you know.
And at least one of those select few IS 'Mechs that can have 6 lasers can have 6 LLs and spam them so much it hurts my eyes.

hmm another locust for the collection though as others have said there looks to be 4 basic loadouts using endo/FF/DHS as a base. #1 and #4 i had to take some armor off the head- max everywhere else.

1) 2MPL/2MG 1 ton ammo xl 180 engine
2) ERLL/2MG (aka 1V 2.0) 1 ton ammo max xl170
3) LL/2MG 1 ton ammo max xl 170
4) LPL no MG. can go max xl170

of course removing the MGs and ammo can get the engine boosted as well

tried squeezing an ac2 and the best i could get was xl170 ac2 and 1.5 tons of ammo (i suppose armor stripping can get a SL also or 1 ton ac2 ammo and a ML/SPL/2SL)

will still get one- cause locust.

may get the griffin too- still debating that one.
