...and good grief that Stormcrow, MORE heat to go with more slots? Why do you think LPLs are rare on laser crows as it is?

Because of tonnage.........LPLs are more heat efficient (and more effective) than 2 ERMLs and 4 DHS, just saying. That high investment into tonnage and ghost heat hampers any serious boating, well that and those free 10 DHS.

I don't always use LPL's, but i'm excited at the prospect of an LPL, 2 MPL, 8 SLAS, 18DHS and a TC1.

Not meta, but WILL FIT ME LIKE A GLOVE.

TDR-SE.....the weakest, and YOU are calling me names?
Your hatorade blinds you.
Not paying a penny of cash for them that is for sure.

The 9SE is potentially the strongest one in the pack at this point in mid range. The 5SS is the strongest at brawling, and the 9S is still decent to good at sniping with ER PPC. But the 5S is only about decent for mid range, as no JJs plus Wolverine can hold the same loadout with the LLs.

But Thunderbolts will be another discussion.

I'm saying that you don't understand the strength of the high points. The nerfs are nothing in comparison to how high those points are, extending the strength of almost all viable roles of the TBR-A for almost nothing as a drawback.

QFT.

There's a reason the Jagermech does so well compared to many other IS heavies, despite it's atrocious torso hitboxes and incredible fragility.

I'm not saying you are wrong for shelling out cash for better equipment, but this post symbolizes all that is wrong with this game. Between evident power creep and the paywalling of said power creep (regardless of whether it is temporary or not) it is a sad problem that remains and accentuated with the latest gift store options.

The Timber Wolf A will give rise to the new poke Timber Wolf as well as make current ones even more powerful (2 LPL Gauss Timby Im looking at you). The new SCrow pod pales in comparison to the power of the high energy mounts of the A's LT.

I agree.

And I will happily buy into the paywall :)

Timber Wolf had only one downside. It had to expose itself in order to vomit lasers onto the enemy.

Not anymore.

This is really much ado about nothing. The quirks are really not going to hurt you that much.

Yep. The SCR arm is much worse quirk wise (heat gen) and even that isn't enough to make that pod bad.

Well, yes, yes it is enough to make it bad. No way in a million years will i ever use that SCR arm, because it adds nothing. SCR doesnt need that many E hardpoints, it has plenty anyway.

However the TBR-A LT could have done with some more serious negatives i think - that +7.5% heat should be on the Timber, not the Crow.

Then you're directly endorsing the blatant power-creep, and that's a fast slippery slide for this game into the game junkyard. And yes I could easily buy a couple of TBR-A, but no way would I endorse this kind of terrible cash grabs that ruins balance, which every half-decent game needs.

Kilroy was here.

or....guess never heard of 3pV?

Naw, I'd rather let you continue to use your Steering wheel and prove it with the myopathy of your points.

Doesn't peak that well with those negative movement quirks, and there isn't much you can carry beyond the standard last vomit.

Unless you really want to boat smalls.

It already moves faster than a Stalker and no one is complaining about the Stalker's ability to hump hills. High mounts are probably the single most important feature a mech can have in this game. It allows for offense and at the same time it protects you because you don't have to show 75% of your mech to take a shot. The quirks are actually pretty tame for having 3 of them up there on a Timby. TW can jump too if it wants too and Stalker can't do that. Heck, I want one of those for my timber.

Edit:

Just to add, other heavies I play like the dragon and Tbolt have 2 energy HP that are mounted high. Firebrand has 2 as well. The IS mediums have 3+ highmounts (Shadowhawk/HBK) and the stalker has 4. BLR has 6 but they aren't really high, high mounts. They are upper chest so still not as good as any mount that is on the shoulder.

This was what I was thinking as well when people complained about the Energy points on the SCR. What are you going to do with all of them? You'll just overheat. It's not like you can put that much more DHS to compensate compared to a Nova. SCR doesn't need the new arm. It does perfectly fine as it is and if you compromise any more on heat generation you'll end up cooling off more than shooting.

Supporting or killing it faster, time will tell. But hey if it makes you feel better, keep telling yourself it has to be for the better of the game. And all these money gifs for something that cost this little is so meh. Now go and buy all the gold mechs available instead.

Wow, all the moaning about 10% extra beam durations. Simple fix... load up with ER PPCs. All the benefits without the drawbacks.

Well, other than the drawback of equipping ERPPCs with no bonus velocity, which is a pretty big drawback.

PPCs suck without velocity quirks**

Please note im not one of the people complaining about the negatives on that pod, i think they should be a little worse actually.

**(yes, this is a problem, they need to buff PPC velocity by 40% and then stick a 40% velocity NERF on the Dire Wolf and King Crab. But then the Firestarter would PPC just as well as a Panther without the 1 arm drawback.. so i can see why they dont)

amazing what could have been solved had they IDK...listened and implemented sized hardpoints back in CB. Firestarters and Locusts shouldn't be running around with PPCs in the first place.

I don't remember any 20 ton Mechs with a PPC, But 35 ton Mechs...

FS9-K
The K variant began production at the same time as the original model and mounted two flamers, a Large laser and two small lasers. While it was designed to be a companion model, the H variant proved more popular and dominated production after it was introduced.[3] BV (1.0) = ??, BV (2.0) = 763[9]

I'm sure we can find 2 tons to make it a PPC...

Great...and that variant would have a single energy hardpoint that could carry a PPC.

See the point?

If utterly unfounded.

Again, no one has bothered to tell me exactly what build is going to be so unbalancing that accelleration, decelleration AND laser burn time had to suffer.

Other than sword and board with pretty much the EXACT same laser vomit that we have on in game right now.

What?

By the way, saw you in a pug match yesterday, your team lost 2-12 and you managed a whopping 250 damage in whatever it was you were in. I was playing an un-elited Zeus and had three or four kills.

Underhive what?

I can (and have) wrecked you with most of my mechs, and there are a LOT more IS in the stable.

You assume people even still use the 2LPL build. This thing will do Gauss+all the lasers. It's not a matter of new weapon loadouts but new placements. They are higher and in the side torso, thus better.

Also, Bishop is a scrub pilot, don't take his balance opinions seriously
