Hope you still visit this thread ACRaven. I understand that you didn't like facing the same enemy mechs over and over.
I assume you don't want to follow in their footsteps and use the same mech configurations which you find in the Meta.
I cannot change the enemy you face, but i can show you how to not get slaughtered without using Meta tactics/mech builds.
A guide i made. It's a big textwall but it's filled with a decent amount of details to get you started.
Non Meta Light Mech Tactics Guide.
Understand this....These tactics is not for everyone. Some adapt to it while others don't.
As you try figuring out where the most popular travel routes are on each map you will
die a lot while adapting to these tactics.
I paid a hefty price in getting killed over and over till i figured all this out about 2 years ago. I still have disaster matches though.
Next is Smurfy. Use it before buying mechs and remember that a mech is not just all about the the quirks, weapon hardpoints and their locations.
It is also about how far can a mech twist it's torso and arms to the sides as well as downwards.

Finally. Get used to having your arms unlocked if you haven't allready.
It gives you an advantage in uneven terrain, close combat and faster response times with your arm mounted weapons.
You can unlock them in the settings.
One guy i meet on these forums keeps them locked, but presses left shift to unlock them temporarily though...it's all about what suits you.
