Been on my mind for awhile now, but I doubt that we'll ever see it happen.

Maybe we can get a new variant and call it the Hunchlas.

It's okay to dream. :(

Call me nuts! But i like it.

I would welcome it in my family, and put a Gauss rifle on it. Together with a rack of LRM20 and medium lasers.

Trust me, when i say: i like it!

A Battlemech always look better with the gun on the shoulder. Predator style!

A change like that would ruin the character of the 'mech and a basic design feature it's had for over 30 years. It's a big reason why I hated the Atlas design in MWT.

I like the pictures and it would make Atlas more viable for sure, but...

The problem is that it would just be another Gauss sniper or ridge-humper.

That will be sold as part of visual customization packs - along with camo nets, spikes, and jester caps.

Close, but not sensible enough, methinks.

My take:

Well they can always add a negative quirk like Gauss Charge Time +50% or limit it to 1 gauss charging max as a specific thing for the variant I guess.

There would simply need to be a variant with 6E in his center sixpack (2 in each torso component).
Then he would have decent, robust hardpoints.

Melee would go badly wrong if the wrong arm was selected.

The most OP mech ever, and it would probably fit too.

Be tough to headshot though. He could tease you to try... and then laugh at your poor aim. :)
