Griffin 2N is a fantastic mech! I was asking for a 55 tonner with ECM and JJ's some time ago and there we go. As soon as I saw it, I got it! Currently running either 1xERPPC,4xSRM4's or 1ERPPC,4xLRM5+Tag(and ECM of course). Didn't test or think about other builds atm but will do so in the future! All in all a great addition to my collection!

Yeh, as mine has evolved, I've found myself relying less and less on the beam weapons and ramping up the tubes.
Went from ERPPC to LrgPulse (that was pretty good, honestly), to 2x medPulse, to 2x Mediums....

however I prolly need to wean off the 340xl. :/ but.. but.. 100kph

BAP negates one ECM in range without having to toggle your own ECM to counter. It also bumps lock range and reduces target information acquisition time. In CW, there is often about twice the enemy ECM coverage as in the pug queues and nigh everybody has radar derp on, so extra BAPs can make a big difference.

That is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard....God this game is dying every day. You dont run BAP on an ECM mech...

Targetting data, hitting R same ******* difference.

Ok, i spent $9 on this beauty. Had several great matches with 4xASRM6, XL300. Basically my Loup De Guerre + ECM.
Must be sneaky tho, more striker than brawler, peeps aim for ST to get that ECM, and XL doesnt like it.
Trebuchet has tough to kill STs while Griffin's ST is waay easier to aim at. Shield arms and twisting is mandatory for survival.
Next I will try 4xASRM4, 2xML and STD engine. But I guess that with speed tweek it will be perfect even with XL.

But a BAP mounted on a mech also mounting ECM loses its countering ability, so there's still no reason to run one when running ECM.

Terciel is correct. BAP's ECM countering is overridden by the actual ECM. In Jam mode, a BAP + ECM may have the extended BAP range, but I'm not sure (sadly, my guess is no). There's no reason to take BAP with an ECM mech at the moment.

The 2N is quite solid but not pay to win. Its more pay to get something special.

Fun to play but my 1n or 3M are both better in doing damage. The 2N has more Utility.

Loving it so far. 5 matches and a KDR of 3.0. Not my 1st Griffin, Ive had the 1N for a few weeks. I took advantage of the hero sale and picked up the Sparky so I can Master.

p2w yep,but why should i take a 1.5 ton equipment that i do not need for 99.9 percent of the time?

only thing that i can see that i can now do 4 ASRM6 launchers with an XL engine,

Welp, this thing was practically a finished product right out the box.

First thing I ripped ferro out, swapped the engine for an XL, tacked on Artemis to stack with that lovely 5% spread reduction.

Do you take every finished product you buy and completely rebuild it day 1?

How do you guys deal with putting PPCs on Griffins? I find that my right arm gets blown off the moment any enemy mech looks my direction... you can't protect it for shjt because of the huge tall hitbox.

Simple. Equip a different ST or LA omnipod and move them. Or am I getting confused with a different ECM mech?

I just find it funny that PGI's "response" to the Hellbringer is LURM-based out of the box. Are we supposed to hit it with a PPC to lock & lurm, then PPC them again to hold the lock?

yessssssss

Somehow it reads as if you're saying that like it's a bad thing.

while we're dickering, how does advice to "Equip a different ST or LA omnipod" help a guy asking about PPCs on a Griffin?

If you're talking about mechs, I've never acquired one that merits the term "finished product."

Yeah, tested it out and realized that the BAP doesn't counter separately from the ECM currently. It still boosts the sensor/locking range and target info time, but I'm not so sure if that could be more valuable than a ton of ammo or a DHS, especially on a mech with such nice missile bonuses. I think I'd still stack BAP on my more scouty ECM mechs, though, for the extra sensor range.

After some intense testing I can sate that compared to my SCR with 4xC-SRM4+A and 4x C-ERML the 2N is underperforming mostly due to the limited range at least in PUG games.

In other news, the Timber Wolf is better than a Catapult and the sun rises in the east.

Of course a Griffin won't feel as good as a Storm Crow. The only advantage a griffin has over the crow is jump jets, and the 2N can bring ECM.

No medium mech in the game can outperform a well-built, well-driven crow.

Hmm
pic is worth 1000 words.

Lurms do it again, not every mech with missile points is a brawler/striker

Edit: though the argument can be made that some of these fast mediums with 4-5 lrm5s or 3 lrm10s are strikers. Later in the game I started taking longer shots while running to where they were at, but early game it was LOS and indirect fire at 150-500m and I got a lot of erll hits in.

Depends on the ELO range. At least in my PUG games LRMs are to 80% useless unless you boat like LRM 60+. I rarely find player walking on the open field. Mostly it is peek-a-boo game style with some push elements.
