So what is your favorite IIC variant?

Mine are:

Light:

Jenner IIC

Medium:

Hunchback IIC - Can't go wrong with twin UAC/20's

Heavy

Orion IIC

Assault (tied)

Marauder IIC
BattleMaster IIC

I've always preferred the "standalone" Clan regular Battlemechs, aka the ones that aren't just an IS mech skin with Clan guns shoved inside it.

My fave Clan BM is the Hellstar, because it's one of the few mechs that's built for a specific purpose and is fully optimized to be unmatchable at fulfilling that role.

Runner up is the Omen, because look at dat sexy thang:

Honorable mentions to the Supernova and Piranha, because pewpew and anklebiting (respectively).

Warhammer IIC 4; not much wreaks as much face as this beast does...

Rifleman IIC: take a Wubhawk and make it 65t

Conjurer (Hellhound, also known as the Wolvern IIC): a really tanky bastage....

Locust IIC; 'cause Locust!

Don't worry, 30 DHS can't make 4 CERPPCs heat neutral in MWO, so we're safe for now. The worst case scenario is that the Hellstar would be able to become the Wubstar, outperforming the Wubhawk with higher mounts, more sinks, tougher, and a bit faster (if you remove a sink or 2 for bigger engine).

Wait a second, a stronger Wubhawk would signal the doom of us all, what have I just d-

Commando IIC

2 ERML
3 SRM4s
1 SRM6

With Adders and Kitfox in a lance one of these could swoop in and spatter the mech with enough SRMs to get crits like crazy. Let the PPC Adders open them up from range then crit them into uselessness.

The Hellstar 3 also has a head mounted Jesus Box and 2 added CT hardpoints.

Armour so thin, that if you sneeze on it, you are taking a chance against 9 internal crits....

When it comes to IICs, i would say:

Jenner IIC
Hunchback IIC
Orion IIC

Not sure on the assault.. I would rather have a Mad Cat mk. II :D

If I had to go outside of the IIC's for the assault, I'd be looking at Stone Rhino or Kodiak... maybe Supernova too...

Well one is a Medium and the other is a light... so yes? Just need to toss in the Conjurer and maybe a Highlander IIC, and we've got a non-unseen IIC package deal... on top of that, those four should all be about the same weight as the IS versions that they are based off of, so should be an easy implementation for PGI...

Not totally on par with Lore, but IIC variants could be a way for PGI to "give" clan tech to the IS, see these variants on both sides of CW. Use the same skill tree as their host chassis. More mechs for IS to buy, and entice Clanners who do not play any IS mechs to skill some up for variant too.
