After 15 minutes CW needs a surrender option.

thats easy, hold down k till you are on your last mech, and then override and start firing alphas.

Lord pretty much summed that up. You would have to get 12 people to agree to surrender. I don't think you would be particularly appreciative if your match was going splendid and it gets cut short (and so does your XP, C-Bill gains etc) by the opposing team surrendering. I can see PUGs surrendering before a shot is fired to a pre-made 12. I think it would be too controversial to be afforded time and effort from PGI to develop.

I support this idea. This would effectively fix the problem with spawn camping and other similar situations, where the game is practically over, but both teams are forced to suffer trough the tedious cleanup phase.

The surrender option is so annoying. People will spam it all game. Happens all the time in LoL. You can be winning a game, but then for no reason the premade on your side just surrenders and it's a loss.

Even if you figured out a way for it to work, odds are it would just end up like the 'Ready' button: a lie.

considering even mentioning that we are gonna loose in a match would instantly give you death treat's i think this is a bad idea.

At least the game should ignore leavers when all others have run out of mechs. If half of the matches will be counter attacks, and you have to wait 2 minutes until the last mech of one disconnected pug arrives, then on average we will waste 50 minutes of this weekend if we want to get the 50 points.

We saw a lot of this during the Show your Allegiance event. It was bad, like really bad. We almost felt sorry for the filthy clanners.
For consolation, instead of surrendering, if you happen to come up against Night's Scorn 12-man we can and do honor duel challenges with your last remaining mechs if we've managed to secure your drop zone.

I don't think it's necessarily a terrible idea in principle. It would need a number of restrictions though.
I would even suggest an automatic surrender if a team failed to damage an enemy, or the enemy base for a certain amount of time to prevent the "hide in a corner of the map" strategy. This would only apply when ahead on kills while attacking in invasion, attackers who have not destroyed the enemy base in counter attack, and defenders in counter attack once the their base is destroyed.
I would also suggest that the winning team be given rewards according to the amount of remaining tonnage on the enemy team to prevent surrendering out of spite.
Not sure if it's really a good idea or not, but I think it could work if done properly.
