That would actually be awesome. Take advantage of steam's already well established social network.

I'm not against it, but since there's no news on Steam that I have seen about it. I am saying, no not at the current time. Subject to change by management. :)

We cant answer this at this point. Obviously steam's community and reach is amazing. However it also comes at extreme expense on the games revenue stream.

i hope so to, it would make it much easier to access, plus it will expand out to many more people, its a really good way to market the product and make people aware of its presence.

I would like to see it on there.

EDIT: Russ I was thinking that might be a prob as it is with most things when you bring in a middleman.

Would you mind expanding upon this a little further? What sorts of cost's are associated with using Steam as a platform?

That's got to be a nail biter...

On one side, there's only so many BTech/MW fans who use Twitter/Facebook, which seem to be PGI's primary method of advertising (picking up articles on gaming portal sites when they can), but the massive 30,000,000+ user audience that Steam commands would do PGI a world of good to get their product readily out to them (though there are the expenses involved in doing so as well)

Kind of a catch 22. I'm still working to get the word out locally, especially with this limited-time deal.

Maybe it's best to play it safe for the time being and get a stable following before the "final" product goes out and then can be advertised to drum up more interest and (hopefully) transactions.

Would just like to chime in with pro-steam sentiment as well. It seems like in an MMO having an in-built social network could be outstanding. There's just so much to like. Friends see other friends playing a game and ask about it, and if it's F2P they are likely to try it.

Like DOTA2. Never played the first one, wasn't all that interested in the second, but MAN a bunch of my friends have been playing it a ton. Now I'm interested.

it would help the game if it was on steam or anyothere online shop. but we must remeber they need to pay steam to put the game in. but we can hope. and who knows, we could help too?

perfect look at it like Itunes and simular services. For every transaction that happens on there account they get a cut. Now it probably comes down to how much of a cut and companys generaly don't like to say because they may have gotten a better deal than others in negotiation.

Pretty sure built-in torrent clients are pretty standard these days for MMOs, right? I'm pretty sure it's what WoT is doing; their downloads are always pretty snappy.

One feature PGI should put the game on steam for - Steam auto-updates its games. Nothing more annoying than trying to load up an MMO after a while playing other games just to find you need to download 10gb in updates.
