Wolverine - its fast, got jj a good mixed arsenal and a jack of all trades that can fit multiple roles

It's also unseen. <.< Which for me removes any surprise that might otherwise be present at not seeing the chassis.

The Warhammer was in the 3015 trailer, and they're already redesigning mechs, so no reason not to have it. Same with the Marauder, which might even shut up the Mad Cat fans for a little while.

The Mauler looks awesome and was the poster boy for MW2: Mercenaries, while the introduction date is sketchy nobody would complain if they fudged it a bit.

You may have noticed how 3015 never came out?

I've gotta go with the others on the Warhammer. It has always been one of my favorites and am sad it's not there (yet?). The Zues is my second choice.

Spider. It's not unseen, it's somewhat iconic, it's fast with great jumping capacity.

The thing with the Unseen mechs is that they recently redid all the sculpts and looks for those mechs...not sure how they'd still have to worry about being sued when the new looks are completely different and don't infringe. I really want to see the Marauder and Archer and perhaps the Crusader.

But aside from those...the Vindicator and Panther are pretty much iconic Liao and Combine mechs, just like the Enforcer for Fed Suns, the Griffin for Steiner, etc. I'd hope they're going to add those four in when they have time. Not sure which one would be iconic for the Free Worlds....

Definitely the Spider or its big brother, the Venom, would be awesome to see.

The thing about the reseen is there is still a hint of a possibility for legal complications. It's a very small chance, but it's not 0. I am not surprised they are focusing away from the reseen in the beginning at least.

Oh, and on top of the Spider above, I'm also suprised about the Victor, it's named after a prince after all.

My tally could be wrong, but so far the most popular mechs are,

Orion ~ 13 votes
Zeus ~ 9
Enforcer ~ 8
Urbanmech ~ 6
Panther ~ 6
Highlander ~ 4
Blackjack ~4

Blackjack? I like the look of the mech, but I'm wary of any mech with AC-2s... I like the Large Laser variant though.

I know the Mauler is ugly and all, but it should be in here. This mech will have to be introduced sometime.

Whats the deal with the whole unseen thing exactly? (I know it had something to do with copyright issues.)

Are we doomed to never see them again?

Not unless they're redesigned. Someone redesigned them (Project Phoenix) and re-released them. They're known as the Reseen. The general consensus is that most of the designs are pretty fugly. The really well known ones (Warhammer, Marauder, Rifleman) are the worst of the lot, bordering on coyote ugly.

The one from TRO3058 does not fall under the unseen, it was even printed in the fairly recent TRO3058U.

That's the Reseen version.

The Longbow is actually one of the less hideous reseen.

I can think of several that I want to see in game, including several that I understand why they are not. But ones that I'm genuinely surprised to NOT see?

Light:
Urbanmech - this little fellow has a significant cult following despite (or perhaps because of) it's shortcomings
Panther - an iconic Combine Mech heavily featured in the literature

Medium:
Enforcer - iconic F-C Mech with jump jets, good speed and a decent arsenal
Vindicator - iconic Capellan Mech with jump jets, decent speed and a broad mix of weapon types (though probably trumped by Centurion)

Heavy:
Grasshopper - a quirky and easily recognised Heavy, and one of the few with jump jets. Also one of the few "allowed" Heavies.

Assault:
Zeus - iconic Steiner Mech as well as an iconic BattleTech "cover Mech", easily recognised with a good mix of speed and weaponry
Victor - Assault Mech with jump jets, Victor Steiner-Davion's signature Mech
Cyclops - another generally iconic BattleTech "cover Mech", also a good mix of speed and weapons

I'd like to see Kodiak and Cauldron-Born, Orion for sure, and Zeus

Perhaps I've overlooked something and I have a mech lsited here that doesn't comply with the topic.... not sure.

Definitely the Blackjack. Back in Solaris this was a staple mech. Tough to use but it was known for being brutal with its AC2 if you had the precision and skill to use it from max range (and few did). Just crossing my fingers that this level of precision finds its way here as well.

The Enforcer would be a solid choice - a great 'mech to show off the all-rounder capabilities of medium 'mechs.
