(oooh I know boo boo hiss hiss amd/ati... hiss claw) But I have the opportunity to purchase a second 7870 2GB card for rather cheap so I figure I'd see what range of games we play these days work in a Sli configuration. [ the mainboard is an asus crosshair 5 formula z 990FX+ ]

The game is heavily CPU bound but they are working hard on performance. There is SLI support but it will only matter if you crank up the settings so high that you become GPU bound. The same would be true if there was Crossfire support.

To be honest I run crossfired R9 270x's and it does help, alot...

1080p very high settings with shadows to medium. I average 60fps.

So it DOES work but the gains are only marginal at the moment. Knock off the AA @ 1080p and that'll help wonders.

FX8350 @ 4.6 - 4.9ghz watercooled,
Sabertooth 990FX R2,
8 gig of Corsair 1866Mhz,
250gig SSD.

I really hope PGI get around to optimising some more

Crossfire does NOT work.

I'm playing right now and looking at the useage of both cards and only the main card is being used. the second card is at 0% load.

I know my setup works because both are pegged at 100% in Battlefield.

This will happen if you aren't in fullscreen mode, crossfire does not work in "Full Window"

If you get flicker or bad tearing, go into catalyst settings and force the game to use Crysis 3's crossfire profile, see this older post on the subject.

Crossfire does work, you just don't get as much of a gain as you should.
