So I haven't patched in about 8-10 weeks, and now I can complete the patching process because MWO is asking for more than 10-15gigs on my C drive.

My C is a smallish SSD and I've tried a ton of different ways to clear as much space as possible but with no avail. When I look watch the patching process it looks that I've downloaded all of the patch but the patching process requires more space, I have 5 gigs available after what I've downloaded already.

I curious if anyone has a workaround for this issue.

For the record the game is isntalled on another drive that has over 500gigs of freespace.

I have a similar issue. I just keep clicking the OK Button and it eventually completes the patch. THEN, I run the Repair Tool. That doesn't seem to use the Temp Directory or the C: drive at all if you have MWO installed to a different drive and folder. It just scans the MWO Folders and then replaces the missed files from the patch, so bypasses the Temp Directory issue.

If you can't get the Patch to complete, try skipping right to the Repair Tool.

You can select a different temp dir in the MWO launcher: the cog icon top right -> Set Temporary Directory.

Or, as CaptRosha suggested, use the Repair Tool, it directly downloads and replaces non-matching game files, thus takes more bandwidth to complete.

Yeah, that is not working for me at least. I tell it to use a folder on say my E: Drive but no matter what, it STILL uses the C:. When I click to change it, it SHOWS the folder I had told it to use...it just doesn't use that folder.

Well, looks like that was a bug they are fixing ... http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__4410652

I will have a fix for this soon, but in the meantime, when choosing your temp directory, don't select MWOUpdate, choose its parent directory. The patcher is set up to automatically create MWOUpdate within the path that you choose. So, for example, if you want to use D:\Temp\MWOUpdate, then just select D:\Temp as your path, and the patcher will make and use the MWOUpdate directory in that path.

Sorry about all the confusion here, the fix should be out soon.

There's always something going on... :)
Ultimate workaround would be an edit of the corresponding registry value, but why bother with the fix already underway, and in the mean time Krist Smith's clear description explains it all.
