Yeah 6 cSRM6 and 4 cERmlas gives good spare tonnage to play with for armor, heatsinks and ammo.

why do you need lasers with a build like that,...

Because it's 28 damage that you can aim and won't be shut down if a Pirate's Bane and a Raven 3L decide to double team you. Besides, ammo isn't infinite. Believe it or not, those are very relevant ideas unless you plan on dieing very fast.

why not 4 small lasers then, it will give you 5 tonnes of ammo with full armor (but it's safe to take 0.5 tonnes from the head and arms)

but honestly i never feel the need to use any laser on my streakcrow

I don't know.... I love small pulse lasers on my non streakcrows, my mad dogs and my timbers, mix that with SRM6's and it makes for some fun. :D

SARNA says this isn't a separate mech (like the Madcat MkII) but more a variant of the original MDD. Either way I want it.

Next pod reinforcement? ;)

Try an asymmetrical build, you'll have a Misery like shield side (well, for a 60 tonner).

Otherwise, I like Fup's suggestion to buff the STs that don't have 3 missile hardpoints.

Run 3 armor in the back that will help SURE! Yah SURE!!

This morning in 3 of the matches I played I was almost cored out 3 times buy teammates that were too stupid to clear my mech before firing their weapons. Not me stepping in front of them just them whoring out shots in hopes of killing the target mech 1st. I almost turned around and wiped out a teammate in a Mad dog for doing it 2X.But I held back THIS TIME and admit have legged hawseholes that have done it before. A MechWarrior can only take so much stupid! I do not recommend skimping on back armor. Remember the are 10 year olds playing this game.

I would give every sidetorsos some hp buffs. Its doesnt matter what weapons it carries, sidetorsos goes *poof* so easily(and allways first, even when you have taken some off from your arms) i know it can do big numbers what comes to dmg when nobody isnt shooting you and you can freely shoot or hit and run but true fact is that you cant win anyone whos shooting torsos for purpose. Im ok if good players focus on vital parts but thats not the problem. Those vital parts are only parts where peoples hits by "just shooting that enemy"

Why not? Probably because I don't relish getting caught at range by such long range weapons as Inner Sphere medium lasers?

"Scared" is a rather strong word. I want energy weapons because, as I said 2 ECM mechs can hard lock out your missiles and ammo is not infinite. I choose ERMLs over ERSLs (or SPLs) because they are efficient and have good range (you can still at least boil some paint off of the opponent at 800 meters), while the SPL is shorter range than your missiles and the ERSL is close to the same if you have a rank 5 range module on the missiles. It's not good when the most common weapon in the game, the Inner Sphere Medium Laser, can be used to kite you.

Now, if you are happy doing things your way, hey, that's great. More power to ya'.

The main problem of the MDD isn't his punch nor the side torso - for me it is the low hanging arms and the lack of e/b hardpoints in the sidetorso. Beside that you have the ff/es lock. You can not ridge poke with it, because you need to expose a massive amount of the chassis before the arms can do damage. Therefore it only has his strength in backstabe and coming around corner situations. There are not much maps feature this kind of playstyle, nor is it meta right now. So in the end the MDD is for me a situational mech and i rather see him beeing T2+ on some maps and T4+ on others, what average him to be like a T2 to T3 mech.

I think I see your complaint. The versatility of Omni's is restricted to what the original Pods can pack.

However, the ECM complain is one every Missile Carrier has. Its an interesting conundrum.
