In the lead up prior to the Tukayyid event I did a number of CW drops with other Wolf units. I noticed that some of these units preferred the Zerg Rush tactic when on Attack.

For these guys, victory seemed to be the only objective, and victory achieved as rapidly as possible.

For me, what could be more boring? Waiting 15 minutes for a match that lasts 5, in which you score no points, shoot no mechs, and earn no loyalty? I wanted no part of that thank you very much.

But then a strange thing happened at Tukayyid... these same units abandoned the Zerg Rush strategy they were training in only days before... and why is that?

Match score 80.

That's right - the need for match score.

Perhaps match score 80 should be incorporated into the standard CW reward system, and we may just see the hated Zerg Rush go the way of the Pop Tart.

The point is to claim the planet, and as clanner, you do not wait 15 minutes, lol, All my matches came nearly instant, mostly 3-5 minutes including the 1 waiting after matchup and the one after map is loaded.
The organised units already have mostly enough loyalitypoints.

and no matchscore is mostlikely also not what they seek, ebacsue you know what? if members of a unit need matchscores then they make a single rush wreckage, and then a second wave objective. So at this days of the event, the big units already have their scores. So they do not even have that need for matchscore anymore. And many of those player probably do not even care about any of the rewards the event offers. because its just c-bills and mechs they may either have already or do not need.

Score will mostlikely not motivate to differ a units playstyle.

Simply make the objectives a conquest and the entire way how efficient rushes are will change.

Even zerg-rushing, any scrub should be able to hit 80. There are few valid excuses for not doing so. Including having a stroke.

Yes, I was witness to a 4-man going for match score ... by deliberately losing an attack fight. In the last 3 minutes, they deliberately ignored Omega (which was already damaged, and in spite of repeated calls to just blow it up) in favor of going for kills/points. Needless to say, some were really annoyed.
