I recommend checking out the pinned thread here in the new player area and also looking at the Faction subsections, to find a casual group. Those Faction areas can be found over in the Community Warfare section.
I'd say start looking with IS groups, since you got a King Crab first. And if you don't know yet, smurfy's is one of the best resources to keep bookmarked.
And feel free to ask us questions!

The CW section, formerly merc outreach (and I believe there is one over there), will be able to get you settled. I recommend finding out whether you prefer Clan Omnimechs or Inner Sphere Battlemechs, that knowledge will greatly affect what groups you could easily coincide with.
On a side note: I've had Arma 3 for some time now but my friend base on it is very slim. I'd be interested in having another buddy there sometime. At the moment only me and one friend play it (many more play DayZ).

Koniving first question, who's Zhizhu? And yeah, i'll probably get groups with the same "type" of mech i have, Inner Sphere, because i'm sure i'll learn something about them easily and faster, there are so many things i still need to learn, but i have 2 days and i have got the basics i think, i have being managing my heat very well (with the trial hellbringer) i have won a couple of fights 1vs1 because i knew how to keep firing and the other guy didn't also doing a few alpha attacks when the two choices where, alpha or die, i choose alpha and won every time, i was lucky i guess.
Side note, i play Dayz too, haven't in a couple of weeks but i'm full geared, mosin, FXN45, green/brown camo, i have being alive for maybe 3 week now, i shoot a zombie from 800mts or 1200mts don't remember i think it was 800mts, i was in the top of a building near cherno, i know its a lot of distance but i know a trick for zooming more than normal and since there's just bullet drop and not air direction, humidity, atmospheric pressure and the coriolis effect i didn't have to consider all those conditions on the bullet, of course, i didn't hit in the first shoot i think it was the 3rd one but it was a great night.
Add me on steam if you like, is kaiserz from venezuela, i think i'm the only one with that name not sure, i also play, War thunder, H1Z1, lineage 2, Eve online, silent hunter online (submarine game the best one and free browser game tho) and dead frontier, i'm not a PRO player in any of those games, girlfriend and real life is hard enough here on my country, but i just like to keep it real, i like calculations and simulations, also, realistic games makes you think about what are you going to do and how that affect the game and how the enemy can react to what you do.

Yes, you first pick a contract with a faction. I recommend starting with a shorter contract, not the Permanent Loyalty ones.
Then you can fight in one of the planet queues to move the faction's borders.

IS are allowed 250 now I think for any match up either IS vs IS or IS vs Clan. But for sure they get 250 against Clans.
So you can take four mechs up to that weight for a drop deck. I need to look at what's trials but say you take your King Crab, you get 150 tons for the other three mechs you take.
And the main thing is playing to win the objectives on Attack, and out Kill on Defense or Counter Attack.

It's officially known as Heat Scale. The idea is to reduce the volume of fire we can output, and it sorta works, but not properly IMHO, since there are builds that can work around the idea.

I normally play with the king crab and the hellbringer, and do support role with the maddog, but i guess if use the king crab i'll only be able to use far less than what i'm used to

Yep. "Faction" is the tab to use to access CW. The dropship limit is supposed to -- sometime in the future -- have various limits.
Some details. Note that some things are a "position at the time" and may never appear.

Zhizhu is short for Zhi Zhu Mercenary Corporation; one of the many player made 'groups' on MWO such as Skye Rangers, Bravo Whiskey Charlie, Blazing Aces and so on. We were once very active in MWO. You can check out one of our more active threads here.
Zhizhu colors
Far as the Hellbringer... Its stock armor is very awful for this game. Once you own one you'll think it's a completely different 'Mech.

Last time I was fully decked out, well they updated. I've had struggles ever since due to T-1000 speed super zombies that can see you from over 600 meters away because you kneeled from a prone position. They kinda made it manageable last time I played but then an update removed all my gear again so I hadn't played in a while.

Gotcha.
I'm "Koniving" on Steam. (Original, right?) I play a lot of things. I generally like games that involve thinking in addition to all else. Valkyria Chronicles for example is far from something you'd enjoy as it's a far cry from realism, but given that like standard BT or chess each player moves all of their pieces and plans ahead for what the enemy might do. Even with 'interception' fire and things of that nature, you still have ways that the opponent can trump you in a single move. "Checkmate." It keeps your mind going.
"What could happen? What do I know about the enemy forces? Could their be hidden forces around the next corner? Is the enemy equipped with underslung grenade launchers -- could one go over the cover I'm using? That tank, if I could lure it out just enough I can get a Lancer behind it to take it out with a single shot. But would he survive the rear MG long enough to make the shot? I made a mistake and now I have a wounded soldier in the field in enemy territory; I've got only one move left this turn and I need to take out this other threat, but if I leave him/her there and the enemy reaches him/her I will permanently lose that character. Can I risk possibly losing my light tank to save the character? Or is it better to take that threat out now?"
My most recent scenario on there has me with 3 lancers, a couple of shock troopers and an engineer (loaded down with ammo for the lancers) in a poorly foritified position against 12 tanks and some 40 something infantry and a challenge to trump them in 6 turns or less. Figure you get one movement point per character you have in the field. Command characters give you an extra point. So with 6 guys I have 6 things I can do per turn and a limit of 6 turns for an S-rank. >.> 666 I'm doomed.
At any rate I'm listed by Steam to have 344 games (though this doesn't count Origin or other things), so there's bound to be plenty of things to play.

This shot is old, but click to zoom.

Left side. "Mechbays."
"Owned: 146. Free: 9."
Meaning I have 146 mechbays, and 9 of them are empty.
It used to be a lot clearer in this older interface.

Notice the empty space with "Buy mech"? I liked that a bit better.

You could consider something with a Standard 325 too. You'd be able to buy that engine sooner than an XL 360 and IMHO, it's too risky having an XL in an Assault anyway.
