Dear PGI,

I know this isn't exactly a feature request, but I hope this is the correct place to post it.

I'm generally a big fan of the community events that you guys run. It's very noticeable that our unit has a lot more players online when there are events going on, plus it's always nice to change up the game-play a bit.

My concern is that the events have started to get quite long, in particular when CW is involved. I'll ignore the issues with queue times (once our unit switched to Clan for the battle of Tukayyid, that problem went away) and simply consider the actual game time:

I'd say the main motivator in this event was the free 'Mech, which was available at 40 points. That means you need to play at least 40 games of CW, and in my experience CW games tend to take almost all the time available (I'd guess the average is between 25-30 minutes, plus it takes about 2 minutes to get into the game once all the teams are gathered, so I'll work with 30 minutes per game for a rough estimate). That's a minimum of 20 hours solid gameplay to get the free 'Mech. On top of that some of the less experienced players in our unit don't always get the requisite match score, and a 10% failure rate would bump you up to around 22 hours of game time. 2-3 working days seems quite a lot of time to be spending on a videogame.

Non-CW events aren't as bad; on average I'd guess that a regular drop takes about 10 minutes, and if you're playing solo it's quite easy to drop out once you're dead and start a new game with a new 'Mech. The failure rates can be a bit higher though (in match score based events, I'd estimate that our less experienced players fail 20-30% of the time).

In closing, I'd just like to say thank you for all the events you've organised so far, and I hope there will be many more to come. But if the playtime required could be kept under 10 hours, I'd be most appreciative.

Many Thanks,
MagResPolarBear

Depends on the amount of prizes in the event. Everybody playing this last event should have managed to get atleast one revarf.

But yes, I do egrea to some extent.-

I absolutely agree with you Polarbear- especailly if you are in a full time job AND maybe have a family.

Some ppl may say: hey thats your problem- but be honest! If you´d had to choose between doing your job (as indepent working man i can tell you my working day does not end after 8 hours mostly more like 12,13 hours and no i do not have a family but rumors say there are ppl who have).
