Counter-attackers should travel to Omega and capture it for 1 min (or until the bar runs off) like in Conquest. An unintended advantage is it will encourage the equipment of a Capture Accelerator module which would be another c-bills sink - which is a good thing.
As owners of the planet, counter-attackers would want orbital guns to function, not destroy them. They would want to capture the gun and install a new generator to restore function. They would not want shoot down Omega.
If you want to make it more interesting, a Company Commander of a counterattack team could assign 16 mechs out of 48 to carry a generator each (assign the lance) when they are in the dropship. and only these mechs can capture Omega, when they have stayed on the right spot for the duration then the mission is won. There would be a lot of teamwork and strategy involved to protect and escort or distract from a teammate carrying a generator from the defenders, and for the defenders there would be more incentive to deploy a stealthy scout to identify which 'mechs were part of a certain lance.
