I got a Nova Prime as my first mech. I didn't do any research just wanted to scoop up a clan mech. Anyway, regardless of the chassis, my suggestion applies to many mech varients.
With the nova prime, it's really cool that you can pack on 12 lasers. It's really not COOL that the only way to fire them is an Alpha Strike or Chain Fire. My suggestion is to give mechwarriors the ability to further customize their weapon systems with Group Chain-Fire ... Let me illustrate
I have Six lasers on one arm of my nova prime, lets say, we're looking at my left-arm weapon group (group 1)

I can currently fire all six lasers at one time, or cycle through one at a time. My suggestion is to let users define the cycle that chain-fire uses... I would like to fire two or 3 of the small lasers in a group at a time so ...

[11]23456(1st click)
[12]23456(2nd)
[12]23456(2nd)
[13]23456(3rd)
[13]23456(3rd)
Or I could fire 3 of the lasers at a time
[11]23456\
[11]23456 | -- 1st shot
[11]23456/
[12]23456\
[12]23456 |-- 2nd shot
[12]23456/
In the end it's up to the developers on how they implement this; I could see it easily done with color-coded bounding boxes ...
This gives the user more control over how much power and heat they can generate in the cyclical chain fire mode. I feel like this is a huge part of the game that is missing and would improve user experience hugely. I couldn't find the suggestion any where in the box already. Has this been considered in the past? What's your thoughts?
edit, added subscripts because I don't know how to change the color, changed words.
