Been seeing more and more people run and hide, then shutdown at the end of matches. Even with trying to help the other team find them, it takes too long and wastes time.

I'd like to see a 10 second self destruct added so that if you are the last mech on your team and you shut down, it initiates the self destruct if you don't power up in 10 seconds.

It would also kick in if you powered down early in the match and ended up being the only one left.

thats not really the solution: i use self destruct when all my weapons are gone and no enemy to cheer from my kill is in sight

It would be nice to use it as a last-ditch offensive weapon when your weapons are gone, as Fireeagle suggested. Otherwise a declawed mech is just a minor distraction, and good pilots would just ignore them while the run around and bump into your mech like a moth on a lightbulb.

You should never give away the location of a friendly pilot, if they are taking up to much of your time and you are dead having finished playing your part of the round.. exit the match. You can not guarantee they are shut down for good and sometimes shutting down for longer that ten seconds is necessary for a proper ambush to be successful. Attempting to give away their location is not going to help their ambush.
