I'm not sure about the speed, but from the footage i've seen its basically the usual mechanic. You use them to jump, save some to cushion your descent, and if you land too hard you'll take leg damage.

Not in beta but I did hear that light mechs are supposed to wreck on the heaviest, slowest mechs because of how fast they can close the gap and move. I plan on using a heavy or assault so I will be AC practicing on clay pidgeons like a mad man so I can hit them when they try to run past me

*Manages to accidently sneak up on enemy Atlas. Unloads all weapons on it's rear, but only hits with the medium laser. Runs off as Atlas turns around.*

If I got backup sure.. I'll hang out and shoot up that slow moving target, I may actually get lucky and hit with something. If it's just me, which I wouldn't doubt, by the time that Atlas turned around all he would see is the tiny green speck of my Raven upon the horizon...
