I have two to three configerations for some of my favorite mechs. Switching out the weapons manual is painfully slow! Saving multiple configurations for the same mech would be time saver. Especially when you're in a drop group and you want to switch from your PUG build to your CW build.
While I'm here I'd also like to suggest:
Quit charging us for switching in and out:
Structure
Artemis,
Dynamic Armor
Single-Double Heatsinks and Back
Once you buy the second upgrade variant that should be it. Since you throttle the game currency to a slow slow pace like every MMO this is the least you can do. Why must we pay for the same upgrade twice as we experiment builds?

You have to pay again if you switched it out? That seems kinda silly.
But yes, being able to switch to a different config would be nice. Not the most necessary thing, but very nice.

I would absolutely be down with the ability to save different builds for quick loading. Similar to the old mech warrior mercs stuff. Even if you cannot do it with the upgrade differences.

Having multiple configs is logical and a good idea. STO has this; why not MWO?

Also importing loadouts from smurfy and sending config presets to other players through ingame chat please. PGI should adopt EVE Online's features of fitting.
And yes, charging player for switching to another structure/armor/heatsinks EVERY TIME is a robbery.
