Greetings MechWarriors,
We will be rolling out a hot-fix today (Tuesday May 5th) tentatively scheduled for 4:00 PM PDT, with the following change:
  • Community Warfare: Fixing a shader issue that prevented the star from appearing on Vitric Forge
As of 3 PM PDT today we have also already made the following change:
  • Community Warfare: Decreased the number of zones-per-planet from 15 to 13.
As of this change the new map/zone distribution will be as follows:
  • Zones 1, 7, 13 – Boreal Vault
  • Zones 2, 8 – Sulfurous Rift
  • Zones 3, 9 – Hellebore Springs
  • Zones 4, 10 – Grim Portico
  • Zones 5, 11 - Emerald Taiga
  • Zones 6, 12 - Vitric Forge

Oh, someone did take my zone suggestion seriously.

I'm kinda impressed.

Boreal is the one that causes the most trouble with players new to CW. It should have the fewest zones possible, or even retired pending a rework of the entry gates locations.

I have to say I'm surprised as well that Boreal gets the extra zone. Why not the new map? Give people a slightly higher chance of experiencing the new CW candy.

Servers are back (says the status page), but still can't connect with the patcher. WTF?

They brought back the Vitric Forge star, and it went nova destroying the servers.

Edit: Wait...you're right. It's back. It's ALIVE!!!!

Yup, I must say it really puzzles me that every time there's not an even multiple of maps to zones, PGI chooses to give extra drops to Boreal and force people to continue to suffer its dubious pleasures rather than having a greater chance to explore the snazzy new map that PGI just worked hard to make.

for all those wondering why Boreal gets 3 zones its simple

1. they need an odd number of zones so that the win / loss ratio doesn't get 50%.
2. Boreal is currently the first map, thus it gets spot 1.
3. As the maps go up in order - this means that Boreal gets spots 1,7,13.

Now IMHO what they should do is REVERSE the numbers, so the newest map always gets position 1. the second newest position 2 etc etc.

this way, regardless if you have 1 map getting an extra rotation, or 2 or 3. they will always be the newest of the maps getting the higher rotation.

Gotta say I'm looking forward to what we'll see come out of The Perfect Screenshot Thread with this map.

After the patch I'm getting the following when pressing "PLAY"

The program can't start because XINPUT1_3.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

Patch downloaded as per normal but when hit "play" after a second an error screen appears which say failed... MSVCP100.dll not found. I took the suggestion to reinstall and the problem persists. please help!
