I had a few questions, I'm sure most beta testers can't answer due to the non-disclosure agreements, but I figued I'd ask/suggest to the devs here.

Question 1: If you damage a leg on a mech, will it act like MW3 and blow off for the kill? or will it be like MW4 where you'd have to destroy both legs? I suggest a balance, where blowing out one leg makes the mech limp, but another heavy hit or two to that leg would blow it off. It seems stupid in MW4 when you can shoot that limp leg over and over again and it will never fall off, that's just unrealistic. However, you want to keep the game balanced and fun so I understand not letting people run around with AC20's legging light mechs in single hits.

Question 2: How hard is it in general to kill another mech? I remember in MW2 it was pretty easy as the damages and armor was closely related to the original rules (and they're all clan tech), in MW3 it's not quite the same. In MW4 however, it's stupidly hard to kill an enemy mech as the damage is all out of whack (medium laser does only 3 damage??), plus some mechs carry a ridiculous amount of armor (something like 120 points on the CT of a Dire Wolf). So in this game, I was hoping it'd be more on the easier-to-kill side for the sake of realism. Once again I understand balance is important, but I'll be pretty irked if I play Jenner and it takes me (lets see, with 4 medium lasers in MW4 that'd take..10 direct CT hits with all four lasers just to kill the armor alone), which is just crazy. It'd be way more fun and take more skill on player's part if it were closer to the original rules (100 ton mech would have ~47 points of armor in the CT, medium lasers do 5-7 damage).

Anyway I know that's technical stuff and you guys I'm sure have it already decided, but since I haven't seen anyone else post about this before I figured I'd let you guys know how I felt about the game.

EDIT: Oh and one other stupid thing, if the Clan mechs ever show up, give us an in-game option to display their real names. I'm so tired of "Vulture," "Ryoken," and "Uller" on my HUD. Original clan names are much better and I end up translating the names in my head anyway.

1. Though it hasn't been specified, they have said their going to stay close of Battletech rules. This means leg destruction is NOT a kill, though it effectevly handicaps the mech.

2. Double armor on all mechs. If you watch some of the videos, you can see mechs with flashing red armor take some pretty serious firepower without going boom.

3. The majority of players are IS based, so I doubt such a thing would be standard. I'd put money on clan mechs reading clan names, though.

I recall in MW4 and other games if you popped a leg, arm, or side torso and continued to fire at the same area you would pop the mech. I believe the term was called "Legging" even if you popped a arm off and keep shooting the arm.

hmm I never noticed that, I'll have to try it. I do know that in MW4 if you kill say, the right arm and keep shooting there, the damage just goes to the right torso, then to center once that's out. Takes forever to kill anything that way.

Glad to see the legging issue is already worked out (i'm sure that was at the top of the list), but I still sort of don't like the double armor idea. Maybe I'll get used to it, I just don't want to play games where someone spawns as an atlas and it takes the whole team working together to kill it, or if I'm out by myself I have zero chance of beating it as a medium. That'd suck "balance" wise.

Clan/IS names would be cool if you could switch it in the options menu or something like that... but that's not a huge deal. Just thought it'd be cool... definitely would be cool if Clan mechs read clan names and IS mechs read the IS names, that'd definitely be realistic. Very cool.

Destroy one leg and he will limp, both destroy him.

The armor values in MW 4 were 4x the one in the table top, we have 2x.

Hope it helped. :D
