I am both profoundly proud and deeply sickened by this.

The rest of the set is in a cardboard box that's out of sight behind the monitor. :) We used to use them to play "large scale" BattleTech. In fact as I recall I won the Mauler at GenCon one year playing exactly that.

You had to use the on-toy weapons to shoot at (and hopefully hit) enemies. If you got close enough you could hit the "explode" buttons in order to do damage. (On the Mauler, that's the d*ck-in-a-box and it makes the cockpit explode and the pilot eject.)

I'm actually not sure what happened to my collection of toy battlemechs, they just disappeared into the abyss that all my childhood toys vanished into I suppose. These ones though i sure do miss.

Those missile boxes are more like a "Shoot Here" sign. unless pgi enables the extra shoulder hitboxes (that are already ingame...sort of)

Man... adding that would solve a lot of problems imo...

how would they deal with the armor implications though?
right now the game is designed with armor allotments for 8 sections (3 with front and back) to do something like this they would have to add in 2 more segments and then decide so they split the armor between those 2 new segments or give them "free armor" which would cause rage.

They can go with damage reduction with those extra boxes with no problems i think. Think of kinda of damage reduction you get from missile doors but like 10-20 percent more.

This way... if you shoot the torso, you get full damage... but if you shoot the box that is sticking out, you get 75% damage. no extra armor to mess up with builds (it is a virtual extra armor)

Also i'm all for including the timber's missile boxes for all type of missiles (or no missiles even). That will make me stop feeling bad about always running my TBRs with lrms (i love those boxes and i refuse to use srms because of that)

At least the arms should look like the concept if they just copy from the orion. That got those heavy clubs. For the torso nipples, that will be interesting
