nope, just putting in perspective that the champions are a huge step up from the past and in general arent that bad.

None of the champs are good, they're just less bad. It would be nice if they were actually decent.

my additional point is that new players need to learn to lay the game first, these mechs are at least functional for that.

They need to learn to not do stupid things like putting XL engines in Stalkers...

im sorry but i played a stock dragon 1c as a trial mech back in the day, that mech overheated shooting its single ac2 with 1t of ammo.

i also played a stock ctf-4x wich turned slower than a direwhale. seriously traumatic new player experience.

these champ mechs are lightyears ahead of those mechs and handing new players meta timerwolves wouldnt make them better at the game.

Ironically the Champion Jager might almost be worse than some stock Jagers.

Part of the reason Champions should be at least decent is because they have to compete with Hero mechs. Why buy this bad Champion when you can buy the decent Firebrand instead?

It seems the devs are listening. Now we can teach new players not to use an LRM atlas.

EDIT: looks like there's an entire subforum with a thread for every champion mech.

I remember loving the DRG-1N when it was a trial mech,.
Man, those were the good 'ol days.
JK lol I hated it, but I still have the nostalgia for it.

So everyone complains about the trial mechs (they're bad). A few people suggest we let the community decide the trial builds. But, I don't know if that is a good idea. I just saw a 6x MG king crab with 2x LRM 10 and a few PPCs. I've seen worse too of course. However, 6 machine guns on a crab is post worthy material.

Yeah, MGs... why they are even in the game I will never know...atleast not MWO...

MGs are pretty terrible against armor, while I think they should be less effective against armor I'm against them being not effective. 6 on a king crab is post worthy so are some of what I've seen, 3 AC JM6 and I don't mean 3 of a single type I mean 3 as in 3 different types of ammo.

Someday we'll all look back on this and laugh...
