Can i have only 1 reason why would anyone ever take the IFR out instead of a cheetah?



PGI...you can continue with your 1% 2% 4% quirks on the IFR... .... SPECIALLY THE GOOD FOR NOTHING PRIME (please give massive quirks to the IFR-PRIME's CT to make it viable... increase its heat cap... increase its heat dissipation... something less loly than its current ones)

The Mist Lynx will get obsoleted so much worse.

The Ferret at least gets higher armor capacity, and extra 2.0 Trudub in the engine, and 1 ton of more pod space. The Lynx, though, gets absolutely nothing nada zilch compared to the Cheetah.

Cheetah has 9.5 tons of pod space which is equal to the ferret. The cheetah has 6 JJs on top of that too.

You only have 9.5 tons of pod space if you use stock armor.

Don't use stock armor.


Max armor gives you 8 tons for guns.

It runs 70% armour stock; max it out to 8 tons (-1 for Jesus Box makes it 7)

oh... forgot about that... but still 8 tons + 6JJs running at 140+ plus smaller profile are serious advantages... dont forget the ECM too.

Because it costs less in CW, will perform better (against all but Turret aimbots).

I'm aware of the logistical reasons for CW, I wouldn't be taking a Ferret into CW in the first place myself, and I'd use the Cheetah as my Light for CW once we get it because, well, it's a fast Light with ECM, JJ and a good payload potential.

I don't see many Ferrets in CW, Lynxs and Foxs mainly, since the Ferret is a Med and the Scrow is a MUCH better choice for the tonnage. When I DO see a Ferret, I just figure I'm facing a newb or a nub and react accordingly..you know, point and laugh

Seriously though, I do expect the Cheetah to make a serious impact on the Clan tactics for CW, as they will FINALLY have a Light that's worth using, and that's from someone who actually enjoys his Kit Fox, which will be replaced by the Cheetah without a doubt.

The Ferret isn't a real medium. It's actually a light that ate too many donuts.

The Arctic Cheetah and Shadow Cat were designed to replace the Mist Lynx and Ice Ferret respectively according to their pages on SARNA.

So finally PGI is following lore--these 'mechs will do just that here.

I do have a feeling some people underestimate the Ice Ferret though...it has some uses and may even after the Shadowcat if you are wanting to employ some blitzkrieg/speed rush tactics.

The poor Mist Lynx and Kit Fox though...............good bye guys, you never really had a chance.
