Naw sometimes $hit needs changing. The poptart era was not a very interesting time to play MW:O and no amount of 'tactics and teamwork' could unseat that as the dominant strategy back then because us poptarts could also use both of those things to continue ruling as your pogo-stick riding overlords.
My jump snipers are getting rusty but that's a small price to pay for the end of that meta.
Current meta is dominated by laser vomit trading and no amount of 'tactics and teamwork' are going to overturn that. we b!tch because we are not the ones with the ability to actually change the game much as folks might daydream.

Just the other day we did a 12 man drop in CW against clans, as we FRR guys do.
Not long into the match one of our guys got stuck, on a high position, overlooking the whole base, and as we FRR guys do, he kept shooting, a hail mary in the face of impending destruction. His impending destruction however did not come though. So he did quite a lot of damage and kills over time, despite the fact that he was clearly visible, could not move and the opposing team had quite a lot of mechs that were his superiors in range and firepower.
Instead the brave clan warriors opted for the second best option, they started complaining about him, even accusing him of cheating, while he kept making the best of his situation. He ejected later on as he got bored.
So yes, I have to agree with the OPs assumptions.
I've been in a game like that where the stuck player was shielded by invisible walls only they could shoot through. Wonder why the clan players didn't just kill them if they were immobile in full view?
