So when I fire up MWO I immediately get an error reading 'Error in determineBaseVersionNum(). I haven't seen any notes on this anywhere and tried a couple of work around. Anyone have any idea what is going on?

Couple of questions. Does it fail with the MWO logo in the center of the screen (or before that) or does it happen when you click "Patch" in the patcher? Did you just install (or reinstall) the game? Can you check the game's Bin32 folder for the existence of PatchTarget.dll and patcher_version.dll? Finally, the patcher logs might give some indication of why it's failing, so can you check the PatcherLogs directory in Bin32 for the file bootstrap_patcher_log.txt and post the last couple of lines? If you need help locating the file, just let me know.

Did anyone else have to reinstall after patching? I got an error that some DLL file had been deleted by the patch

The client is telling me that I'm missing the xinput1_3.dll and MSVCP100.dll files.
These two files are required for running the 64-bit version of the MechWarrior Online client. As of May 5th 2015, all 64-bit systems will automatically start the MWO client in 64-bit mode.
Please install the packages linked below:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64)

It fails right after the MWO logo fades out. 'Error in determineBaseVersionNum()' select 'ok'. 'Error starting patch bot' select ok. Nothing.
I have downloaded last Tuesdays patch and hotfix. I do have PatchTarget.dll and patcher_version.dll files

Running Repair Tool should be next, I stumbled upon that error with a damaged patcher_version.dll.
And you might wanna check your hard disk and RAM for errors first.
