Even though it's pretty much founder only event (apart from those small rewards for everybody), I am amazed by PGI's dedication towards community as a whole. back in IGP's times there wasn't much point in playing if you were unwilling to pay hundreds of dollars to them. Events were also extremely rare and most were straight out P2W. PGI did a lot to tackle the greed which has layed its tentacles on MWO, they introduced a barrage of events one after another, with plenty of amazing rewards, allowed people to enjoy the game without spending too much, balanced out the gameplay etc. Personally I am very grateful for all you have done so far guys, hoping you'll never leave us, I would have a heart attack if IGP would return!

Not quite sure if anyone else will agree, but I think The Founders should have a more direct and non-restrictive say far more often on more diverse elements within the game that have serious implications on the future of the game.

Just my opinion.

LOl? care to explain? Your bank does also not have anythign to say what your company politics has to be just because they gae your a starting credit

Oh my. The Fatlas. The one 'Mech that already taught me in Beta that I'm a terrible Atlas pilot.

Welp, time to be terrible a few more times.

Oh and before I forget, do we get any hints on what the overhauls will entail (and maybe already some hints on what you guys have planned for River City)?

This is a nice little event, refreshing after last weeks marathon and a good tribute to founder members. Well done.

This is what they said so far in regards to that. Hope the tress can be shot down.

  • DropShip integration into non-CW game modes (still under a 'single spawn' system)
  • Map design improvements (size, geometry, and layout)
  • Physics objects that react to collisions (such as trees and lamp posts)

*shrugs* Everyday for me is Mother's Day. No need to feel clingy about arbitrary date.

So there is it, finally we were called on the Battlefield. The Founders, the very first among the battlefield.

As I walked through the hangar, the technicians were running all over the place. Checking all the system of the beautiful metal beast that were sleeping in that special portion of the Hangar, near the Jenner of Sarah. When one of them finally saw me. He called his superior, superior who came to me explaining the situation.
“Sir, we currently running a complete analyse of all the system of your Battlemechs, apparently nothing strange, we are also currently washing th…
- Don’t.
- Sir?
- I want my enemy to know they are facing an old mech, one who have seen countless battlefield, countless battles, countless loss and countless win. I want my enemy to know they face a Veteran who survived all of these battles. And I want my enemy to know that I won’t be easily defeated.
- I…. I understand, the Atlas is good to go, same for the Hunchback.
- Perfect, what about the others?
- The Jenner is currently under maintenance, we are making some revision to the engine, you don’t want it to break when running on the battlefield. It shouldn’t take too long anyway.
- Good, and the Catapult?
- Currently under maintenance like the Jenner.
- The engine?
- Neg’. The launcher doors.
- What about them?
- They were stuck and we also found countless pack of beer stuck in the LRMs ammo place. Sir, did you… Try to launch pack of beer?
- Eyuup! Only one who has read a certain manual of the battlefield can understand chief. Thanks for everything; I’m going to prepare myself. Have your team ready, it won’t be pretty.
- Yes sir.”

The chief had a nice smile on his face, we knew what was coming, and he admitted one time that he and his team loved to work on my 4 very first Battlemechs.

Yep, they can. ;)

But only the Founders can try to reach the goal of 50.000 kill/point. ;)

I'll play some matches. I guess I'll start in my Founders Atlas but for some reason I've always struggled in it. I play significantly better in a Stalker, Battlemaster, Thunderbolt or Victor. I'll try to contribute to the 50k founders kills, but I'm more interested in the rewards for 30 match score so I might have to quit on the Atlas.

I'm thinking exactly the same thing,
My Atlas-D is simply not what I expected it to be, but after a few games I might have another change of mind...
I haven't played it i a very very long time.

I am gobsmacked, and I am one very happy founder, and to those whiners who have nothing positive to say, well you have my permission to kiss my very large Founders Atlas butt.

Thanks PGI it is a very nice gesture that I really really like and I will be driving my Founders over the weekend even though I still have over 35 mechs to master damm you.

To all of you sad non founders :P and yes there are still a few founders left here who are having fun playing the game (even if CW is not exactly my fav at this time but will hopefully get there sometime).

One of the advantages of old age is that you learn to have patience and PGI have proved to me at least that they are trying and in my age I know for a fact that you cannot please all the people all the time so I make do with pleasing some of the people and as long as I see an effort being made to correct past wrongs I will continue to support them.

ever since launch I've been a bit annoyed with myself I couldn't cough up a bit more money and go for a higher level of founder and get my Jenner. That was my first love and what a beauty it was. Four medium lasers, two streaks and an XL300. Those were the days. Instead I bought mine with MC on launch day and grinded the XL300 and upgrades.

Now you've given me even more reason to be annoyed with myself

The good old days.

(Screenshot by Lordred. The C1(F) in this image is in fact me. Back when we had inverse kinetics and feet that touched the ground!)

Also, back when we had good damage textures (Rather than bullet puke).

Can't wait to get those back.

Well - the "Blue + Orange Founders" should be able to participate using the Non-F-Variants of the Founders Mechs and get a temporary F-Flag for them or you fork their results post Match/Challenge over into the Founders-Challenge (that should be simple database work).

Wish i could become a founder back in 2012. However, I was lucky to receive a closed beta invitation without a founder purchase. It was a blast, trading shots with some of the old timers back then... those were the days.
Best of luck to the founders in this event.

PGI should have held these kind of events way earlier... there are quite a number of founders that are not around anymore.

I'll have fun sitting in that assault que for 30 minutes (only to spend another 15 wading toward the battle).

C'mon, there's about 7 Elite founders that picked something other than the Atlas.

In any case, prepare for a blast from the past this weekend. I hope to see all the dinosaurs brushing their dust off.

I've never gone anywhere, but my Atlas certainly has been collecting dust. I've never really figured the thing out. However, after dozes of revisions and several millions of C-Bills, I think I'm finally on to something

Excellent event PGI. The founders helped get this game rolling.

These updates may include:
  • Dynamic Time of Day
  • Weather
  • DropShip integration into non-CW game modes (still under a 'single spawn' system)
  • Map design improvements (size, geometry, and layout)
  • Physics objects that react to collisions (such as trees and lamp posts)
You take that MAY out of there and add these and I am going to spend a game or two just killing trees. OH HELL YES :)

I will finally be getting that Island, great, 20 points in solo/group queue is relatively easy to achieve, unlike 20 in CW

edit:
Jenner and Hunchback will get most of my drops but the Catapult and Atlas will both be taken out at least once.
