Title: "Calling ALL Founders"

Elite Founders didn't get mechs, so it isn't really calling them all now is it?

Sorry to sound mean but if you did not cough up the money needed to get a Founder´s Mech then hard cheese, cry me a river. Either you did or you did not easy and for once there is naught that the whiners can do about it.

So do the mechs need to be stock or can they be modified. (Mine are all stock, I just started playing after 2+ years) I'm just wondering.

With Dragon Bowling special ability? :P I can't wait.

No they can be modified, you will probably want double heat sinks and endo steel upgrades for them though and an XL engine for the Jenner.

Incoming - and horrible - Dragonbowl Z joke detected...

TBH, I can't wait until collisions and knockdown are back in the game. Then maybe idiot teammates in light, medium, and even heavy mechs will stop running at me and killing my movement. (I'm usually in an assault.)

The good old days.

(Screenshot by Lordred. The C1(F) in this image is in fact me. Back when we had inverse kinetics and feet that touched the ground!)

Also, back when we had good damage textures (Rather than bullet puke).

Can't wait to get those back.

Sadly we will never see those good ol graphics again, I asked Russ about this in the town hall last time he said more people playing was important.

So thanks to tons of people who are PC gamers playing with comador 64's and gateway laptops, the "minimum requirement" is way to minimum IMO. Minimum requirement should be nothing less of a PS4.

I look at it this way why support someone who is such a cheap ass they refuse to buy a decent rig $570 (cheapest rig I have seen recently)? If you're not willing to put money into your hobbie/past time, what's the chance you would spend money on a f2p game anyway when it's free to you?

Yes, I'm a little salty about the lack of good damage models, 4k textures, and other fluff we could have but don't because the majority of player base isn't willing to spend money on decent PC's.

If you do not have a dedicated graphics card minimum 3-4yrs old, you do not have the right to complain about FPS performance in my opinion. It's like bitching at Sony that your ps2 isn't playing ps4 games....

In case you missed it ... there is a personal challenge for everyone that covers most of the rewards. The only bonus founders get are a weekend leaderboard for founders mechs and some prizes for the top folks plus a "vote" on which map to do next if they get enough kills ... considering they are probably doing them all eventually ... I don't see it as a big deal.

Also note the variable time of day capability of the new maps ... I think the distinct "night" versions will be a thing of the past with time of day functionality providing the same ability.

Anyway, I don't understand how you deduce "the Founders are in fact NOT playing" ... seems you assume that the point of the event is to try to pull founders back to the game ... which is ludicrous since the rewards are certainly not enough to tempt someone to play who left because they were dissatisfied with the game. There have been far more attractive rewards in other contests in the recent past that would have been far more likely to tempt folks out of retirement.

My take is that the event gives founders a reason to use those (F) mechs that they have had for nearly 3 years and likely use very rarely these days since in many cases their capability has been superceded by new mechs. It is also a way of acknowledging their early game contribution getting MWO off the ground in the first place without giving them anything really significant (the loyalty mech program from last fall was a far larger event).

Anyway, I will see if I can get a chance to get in a few matches ... would have been nice if the event wasn't on Mother's Day weekend but c'est la vie :)

My KGC-001(L) is what brought me back to the game, honestly XD Been playin' solid ever since... (well, when they announced the KGC, I came back right when I got my CN9-AH(L), and the AS7-S(L) that came after...

I'm really glad they are giving away one of the hanging Founder's tags. I really wanted one of those, but never shelled out for the Phoenix pack.

Everyone go Vote here :P We have overwhelming support to return Atlas glowing eyes... But, apparently not overwhelming enough!
http://mwomercs.com/...leable-feature/

Maybe we should all boycott the event until it comes back! (only teasing.... Though... Would make it easy for me to top the leader boards >:3)

I really wish I could have found a logical way for the Veteran founders to participate with the Kill count and the leaderboard!
We appreciate you too! But you guys and gals not having a founders 'Mech really limits my options!
I'm not promising anything, but I am open to suggestions! send me a PM

Also the plan is to preview some of the upcoming River City changes tomorrow.

If it was up to me Alpine peaks would be my choice I have too many fond memories on Forest colony!

You know which accounts are founders, and you should be able to track kills/match performance of a model of mech (note that the skill tree does not discriminate between the (F)ounder and normal mechs of the same model). So by cross referencing the two pieces of data you should be able generate the leaderboard and kill counter that will let Veterans or any founder for that matter participate using the same model mechs as the founders mechs.

Then I demand I can use my golden Direwolf in the event because the founders atlas isn't even DDC quality!!!

Great for the Founders.

I found the game the week after the program ended, augh. Then not to be left out, time for everyone else to try for a Hula Girl. Win win all around.

PS: select frozen city if you can.

Really? I love Frozen City as-is, actually XD Forest Colony gets my vote.... Too damned small... I can get from my spawn, to the enemies spawn before they've even left it with my Locust... It just wasn't made with 12v12 in mind...

Nice that Elite Founders can't participate in some aspects of this challenge!

Serves then right for being tight fisted end of story.

I agree forest colony does need a resize but other then that i had no other issues besides Frozen City where the game will start to lag and drop frames due to that lovely haze effect.

I've never gone anywhere, but my Atlas certainly has been collecting dust. I've never really figured the thing out. However, after dozes of revisions and several millions of C-Bills, I think I'm finally on to something

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...6048849d6d7ceb6

Yeah, while I'm not a Founder, I did have an AS7D at one point and never really got the hang of it (or other Atlases really). But experiences since then have given me a different outlook on some things (e.g. starting to appreciate AC10's) and I kinda wish I still had my AS7D to try something along the lines of your build there. Here's how I'd tweak it tho:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...9c2bbe89003713d

Much of the firepower in your build wants you to stay at a moderate-to-long engagement range, and the SRMs are at odds with that approach. Sure, they help to rough up anyone who gets in close, but the build is so hot that using them for any length of time comes at the expense of other weaponry. Sometimes less is more. It seems to me that you'd be better spending tonnage on more speed to aid in maintaining the battlefield positioning for those big guns and in keeping lights off your back (I also crave more back armor anyway, but I might be too cautious in that regard.) Also I'd add AMS for this weekend given how many LRMboats I've already been seeing in solo queues this week even before adding in any Founder-pults.

Actually, I think I'll haul out my DDC and try building it like this, minus ML's plus ECM...

LOL.
After seeing this umm challenge i logged onto our TS where i told my mates about it, about a dozen or so are Founders, telling them that if certain criteria was met they would have a say in some development via a poll.
First statement i got and was echoed was... " Is one of the options ..get rid of PGI.." as my answer was no, well, none will be participating..

Well then they will not be missed in the least. Nor will you with your negative attitude nuff said.
