This is a very small map where the main engagement always happens near the arch/tunnel mouth and it's currently taking the first place on my MWO-boring-maps list! Not to to mention the added murkiness ("gray filter") to the normal version making it just unbearable!

Alpine is fine despite the always happening race to the hill mainly because it still has relatively that fun and excellent Conquest mode. Although Frozen City is also small, it's still better designed than the Forest Colony.

I'm not a founder, but I've been playing for 2.5 years now. I agree. Alpine can be worked by brawlers still, and other than that it's an okay map. I don't particularly like it, but I like the fact that you can actually see long distances on it, and if I'm in a brawler set up I suck it up and work for positioning during a match.

Forest Colony needs some help though. Maybe some docks with some small warehouses to give a bit of extra cover in the water.

Alpine is and always will be considered a poorly designed map in my opinion. Mostly due to terrible balance on Assault and Skirmish.

Anyway, I could support making Forrest Colony bigger. It was the first map and designed for less players.

How interesting would it be if it opened up the shoreline on the other side of the bay? Have each team spawn on each side of the bay. Rotate the container ship 90°for shoreline cover.

I'd think that would add a new dynamic to the map.

Forest Colony has had no fundamental changes since it was launched in closed beta way back.

The only significant change (apart from turrets and the drill rig, depending on mode) was the addition of the beached ship to break up the firing lines out on the water.

As soon as I saw the list I had decided to vote for this map.

I agree you Founders have to choose Forest Colony. Its the best of the original maps and its like going on a camping trip, with mechs and lasers.

Best Forest Colony movie I have seen.

I am in agreement. Alpine is acceptable, and frozen city is actually my favourite map because it always seems to get brawley. Forest Colony is the one most in need of remastering.

I agree. Forest Colony needs to be remade first. Now only if PGI actually respects the poll it made... remember 3PV polling fiasco?

I will vote for Forest Colony. That map needs to expand (too small for 12 v 12), as well as having the stupid grey-blue haze lifted. I cannot see squat without heat-vison most of the time, and that takes away from the beauty of the map.

I long for the old Forest Colony where the fog was lighter and I can see things just fine. As long as PGI does not bring back 8v8, Forest Colony needs a size increase. Caustic and Alpine are both fine for 12 v12.

Alpine is actually not tha bad, And the race for the hill would not work, if the tema not making ot to the hill would not reckless push there. because the hill is not an objective. But most non hill teams decide to go there trying to die instead of staying back in patience.

I thank you for your support and opinions! In the end, I would be grateful whichever map gets the most vote. Any improvement is always good in my book.

I'll be voting forest colony, though they all will be betting a rework.

Of course, it is the only place in which The One Ring can be destroyed after all.

I support this initiative, I think for 12v12 Forest Colony needs the most work out of the three that will be up for vote.

Its great for 4v4 or 8v8 private matches, but you can't have everything.

If only I had found out about this game 3 weeks earlier, I too, could be a fancyt founder.

As it is, I am not. I have faith though that the founders will remember the way Forest Colony used to look before IGP decided this game should be able to run on PC's from 1997, and how the game used to be when we had 8 vs 8 and the small maps got to be mosh pits once 12 vs 12 was put in.

FC needs to be expanded, a lot, and the textures restored. Adding dropships and that is nice too of course, but the map itself needs an update to function better.

I know there is some hate on the forums for Alpine, but the faults of that map are more due to lemming players drawn to magnetic mountain/hamburger hill and IMO, spawn points. FC, there is no spawn point "fix" that could help the map, there is no fault on players because you can shoot the other guy almost anywhere on the map from anywhere else on the map.

I guess I’m the only one going against the grain, to me it feels like the most organic and real map rather than just an arena, really battles happen at choke points on terrain not specifically designed for that purpose. Alpine would get my vote (I’m not a founder though, sad times), it’s just too sparse and empty.

Of the old maps Alpine is far and away the simplest and most boring/awful. They fixed everyone from going to the radar antenna hill so people found a new hill. Alpine needs more variety when it comes to strategies.

Number 2 for me, and a lot of folks will probably disagree is caustic. It's not on the list bit it is old. Anyhow, I think work needs to go into the edges/slopes of the crater. Currently they seem incredibly random without a lot of thought having gone into the design when it comes to cover and firing lines.

Frozen city is my favorite map, and I think forest colony is pretty solid. My least favorite map in the game is terra therma, but it's pretty new so I doubt a rework is in progress.

Not Mordor.

It's what I call the area just outside the lower cave entrance/exit. Its a death trap. And it pains me every time my team rushes to it. :(
