I am not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I have some thoughts and suggestions about the new River City.
Here is a quick paint edit:

Obviously I haven't played it yet, so these are just my first thoughts after watching the stream. I really like the direction this is going in, but I would love to see a larger city and less open areas to give this map a unique, urban feel.

I am really unhappy with the look of the river. No real river looks like that. No real river has rocks like that. Please replace them with something else, like a ship, a crashed dropship, a giant statue of Kerensky, whatever. Or put an island with buildings in the middle of the river.

Then the river mouth. It is way too small. I realise that the docks are man-made and that this is not a naturally flowing river, but no engineer would build something like that right there. It blocks the river for ships and dramatically increases the risk of floodings. Please make it a little wider. I doubt it will have much of a balance impact, because spawns are different now and the era of spawn rushes should be over. You can always place higher buildings on the docks to provide cover.

And finally the spawn point in the bottom right. The area is completely pointless. It is just a spawn with one exit. OR a death trap if you run into it later in the game. Please consider changing the border/mountains in that area.

Thank you.

I mostly agree with your suggestions, aside from one point: it is nice to have some more open areas here and there, and by the way, what cover would you add to a spaceport? More debris? Usually airports (and spaceports, i presume) look very open. There are the parking areas, the strips, and all the space needed for big planes taxiing from the former to the latter and vice versa..

Finally there is a (tiny) strip for that DropShip, btw :D

Buildings, more ships, cargo containers, vehicles. It looked a little empty on stream. Maybe it is just unfinished, I don't know.
The open areas that are there right now are all on the outside of the map and I doubt anyone will go there. Most fights will take place in the middle around the river. So they should add buildings to those open areas and make them part of the city.

Wouldn't complain about more buildings.
I don't mind the emptiness really though, unless if more buildings creates for more dynamic fights. Lets put that urbanmech to super good use! :D
I'm always for some flare stuff like cars and...

WAIT.

I JUST THOUGHT OF SOMETHING...

THE STATUES...

PLEASE BRING BACK THE STATUES.

PLEASE MAKE THEM DESTRUCTIBLE!
PLEASE

I agree with some of the suggestions. The Bottom right spawn area should have a second entrance/exit, probably just make the mountain peninsula into just a mountain/hill that you can travel either way around. I also agree the cover rocks near the bridge would make more sense as wreckage of a Union or Overlord Dropship or something similar. The River mouth issue could be resolved with a couple of water tunnels under dock island. Adding a few additional buildings is not a bad idea, but you need to have some areas of the map that allow for long range weapons to have some advantage/use. Otherwise I really like most of the changes the developers are showing off. I still think the Tera Therma (Mordor) map needs the most changes to make it more fun and interesting.

One thing that I spotted that I think would be interesting. The lake. Why not have it where Mechs can move through it, submerged.

To clarify, I like the new map. It looks very promising. The size alone will fix most problems that River City currently has.
But the most interesting fights on RIver City have always been the brawls between the buildings. The sniping over the river stuff was never interesting. There are many other, better maps for that.
And I know I am not the only one, who wants a large urban map, like we had in Mechwarrior 4. This could be the chance to turn this map into exactly that.

I would even love to see some huge skyscrapers, like the purple boxes that we saw in the background of the tree collision video. That would be epic. But that might be better for another map.

I made a new version with the higher resolution screenshot they provided.
