Hello,

I'm just starting into Hellbringers and wonder if there as good way to use the 2 Missile Slots.
Until now I played with 2 LRM15+A, but the results ate very mixed in PUG games.

Brawl Hellbringer is a possibility, but it doesn't quite match up to the CER-ML, CER-ML/Gauss or CER-ML/C-LPL.

Brawler Hellbringer

Another option is the LRM build. However, again, the Hellbringer isn't exactly a very good LRM mech and it would probably be better to focus on direct fire weapons.

I used to run http://mwo.smurfy-ne...17af01b2dc7c836 and http://mwo.smurfy-ne...146a9702a6579ae with decent results.

The thing is, HBR doesn't run LRMs very well and LRMs aren't very good to begin with; and the HBR is too fragile to really brawl well, which means no SRMs either. It's best suited to lasers and ballistics at range.

That said, bringing 18 SRMs and an LB20 or a UAC20 is a lot of firepower to be sneaking around with under the cover of ECM, and it can be a lot of fun to roll up on people and give them a nasty surprise. The thing is, you're just not durable enough to do that more than once or twice.

Sir, I can only stress what the others already said : play to the HBR´s strenghts and dont waste your tonnage on some ammo-spraying lurm-throwers, outfit it with precision weaponry from the laser-category, rounded out with the odd gauss or 2xUAC5 ^^

Honestly, my best HBR missile build is dual SRM 6 with Artemis as backup to my A triple Large laser ECM torso. Nothing in the arms to worry about, and use the SRMs for deterrent and brawling defense more than as a main weapon.

Like what some of the people here are saying I haven't found the Hellbringer to be all that good of a LRM boat. I've settled on running this for my Hellbringer and it lives up to it's name with this build.

Yes, I came to the same conclusion and switched out some Pods for a Gauss Rifle and a trio of Medium Lasers and Machine Guns

The Dakkabringer is also worth mentioning. 2 UAC5 and 3-4 ERML is a fun and effective combination. All in your torsos for that pinpoint focus.

I ran something like THIS for a while in PUG matched with decent results. The higher shoulder mounted weapons of a HBR are better suited to direct fire weapons though, like a HBK's shoulder mounted ballistics.

Something like THIS

go With TAG. The three medium lasers in the torso. Maybe machine guns in the arms or lasers, but that is optional. Use the arms for taking damage. The hard thing about the hellbringer is the size of the RT hit boxe with the LRMs, SRMS, SSRMs. It may be more advantageous to use two UAC 5's. with 4 ERML's.

I do not know how many times I had the right torso blown off due to the LRM box that is added on top. It's like people are drawn to firing at it. Are they effective, yes. At least when you can stay out of the main focus of someone on the other side.

the HBR is not heavy enough to be a LRM boat...period. you need constant missile fire which means 2x LRM 10's or 3x LRM 15's chain fired plus enough ammo to make them worth it. by the time you have that, you have no room for anything else.

HBR is designed to be a survivor...lasting long into matches via ECM and energy heavy loadout. 7x er med or med pulse are fun if you manage the heat, but leave you exposed at long ranges. you need lrg lasers or erppc to play that game.

it shouldnt be a short range brawler, but from experience i know lights like to swarm it to kill the ecm for the main group, so you need something short range with pop. thats why the srm's are there, tho streaks track and hit better on lights than regulars, getting you most bang for your buck.

Thats my best Hellbringer Lrm fit -

2*15 c lrm +a is primary weapon
tag for direct kill
3 er med lasers and few dhs for brawling.

i run it like mid range (300-400m) LRM brawler and its perfect, much better than any ballistic+ lasers HBR fits i tried. All that u need its find any enemy and tag him till his run or die.

I run a Hellbringer with 2 LRM15+A and 3 MP laser and it does really good. The Hellbringer is more a support mech then a specialist. with the combination of LRM and medium pulse lasers he can pretty easy stay in the group (close to assaults for example) shoot some LRMs from wherever you are (even over the heads of others) and the damage of 3 mpl is not too bed, even if your ammo is gone or all are too close for LRMs.

I'd say you have to try it out to see if it's any good for you or not.

Does anybody have any CW effective builds that aren't total laser vomits? The HBR is the one mech I've never been able to settle on for one build. I would like to incorporate a gauss rifle but also need something that is efficient at killing (not just getting assists).

I ran a NARC on the high mount, and a ALRM 20 on the low mount, it was crazy effective. The NARC up high is hilarious fun. also had 3-6MLs depending on how hot you want to run it.

I run gauss er ll x2 and er sl x2 sadly I dont have vid of this particular build. As far as missiles go I cant find a good missile build for this at all. If you want missiles I'd try the Mad Dog or the Timber Wolf-D.
