I know it's already been discussed...but still.

Maybe, PGI should consider adding a "patch" to MM. (and I'm not talking about elo)

Yea, a bit lopsided in the tonnage department. At least it wasn't a complete roll...for what it was worth :/

OP, while I understand and appreciate your issue... This is a byproduct of wait-time concerns and the flood-gate mechanic to accommodate shallow Elo and or class pools.

It's not something that needs to be patch because it is doing it's job of providing a match within a reasonable time-frame... I.e. "It's working as intended".

If this happened every flipping match, I'd be right there with you. Reality is it's an exception to the norm...

They dont have to patch for mm iirc, they set up the ability to tweak that setver side ages ago. What i'm wondering is if settings have been relaxed to shorten queue times and the system is wobbling.

The match is been a lot of fun.
It was 9-7, too, despite we intentionally chose "meh" mech.
So, this isn't a qq thread
(also because, ...who care about loss! :D )

The fact is that MM should really take into account tonnage, not (only) elo.
Because of balance!

While I'll admit the winning team clearly had a tonnage advantage I find it interesting that the losing team actually delivered more damage. Albeit by a small margin.

Not suggesting nothing is wrong in respect to wt classes in this match. But considering the losing teams disadvantage here with lack of firepower and tonnage vs the winning team, they did pretty darn good in terms of overall performance.

The other team outplayed you and won? How is MM going to fix that?

Or are you talking about how everyone you dropped with could have made better mech selections to carry harder just in case the pugs you dropped with sucked?

Looks more like a teamwork and coordination problem, not a MM problem.

This is a good example of how tonnage imbalance can screw over a team. You actually out damaged the other team in total team damage, but they beat you because they had about +1000 hitpoints more than you.

The best solution is to change the requirements so smaller teams bring more balanced drop decks. So a 2-4 man has to fit into 1/1/1/1. A 5-8 man gets 2/2/2/2. And a 9-12 man is restricted to 3/3/3/3 (current default). It would help the group queue significantly, but there is pushback from certain vocal people in the community.

Looks familiar from the days of beta. Go fat or go home... Tho these days you get dps of two mechs because of quirks and people just might handle it.

You are either trolling or are really really clueless about MWO.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND....
WE HAVE A WINNER, here.

Yes, this was our problem during the match. Fatties take long time to be killed, and even if you can maneuver, play smart, etc... there is imbalance about "dmg that has to be done", that in this chase is a looot different in red team/blue team.

Really agree, with the solution you are proposing.

I bet if you had one 100t, you probably could have one. Tonnage is a MM stat that cannot be ignored.

Because a Mist Lynx and a Gargoyle is perfectly balanced against a Kit Fox and a Timber Wolf.

just that a myst lynx is not that much better than a kit fox as the timber is to gargoyle :S
