Wait, did people really call IS mechs OP? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH!

Edit: You can prove that the IS is OP to me by finding at least one IS assault mech in the game that can have 4 UAC/20s with 70 rounds and a small laser. Oh wait, only clans have that for now.

I rarely say anything but.. this just invalidates all the nice stats from the BoT. Seriously? I get ready into a battle and I'm invalid? Less incentive to play period anymore. CW is the best mode... minus the wait in the game and now getting a battle for IS will be harder to win when we get a battle?

Cool I finally get to be a white knight and defend PGI for once. You guys know how many people cry about balance and now look at you. It's not like this is even a big change and wow look at all the tears.

Hey guys, hey, hey, yeah. The bit about Tukayyid is all fluff in case you guys haven't figured it out yet. The adjustment has nothing to do with Tukayyid in particular and everything to do with the balancing of the game.

Yeah! Nerf the clans but don't nerf the IS. We IS we deserve all of these crazy overpowered weapon quirks that are so awesome for balance. Lets everybody continue to cry in order to have our way, and make sure to strip away any sort of advantage the clans might have had according to lore.

A bit upset that i can no longer take my Banshee 3M (being my best assault mech) along with my "Touch you at long range" Stalker 3H and 2 Firestarters.

But getting back to the change at hand... tonnage has nothing to do how good the IS is pushing back the Clans after the reset, it's more that units are signed with IS more-so than Clans (including those who were mostly Clan last time around). I hope to see better payout in terms of C-Bills/LP for clans (at least Ghost Bear and Smoke Jag) in the near future.

Inb4 changing the dropdeck tonnage back to 250 after units switch out of IS contracts claiming IS is underpowered again. (Seriously PGI staph it, stahp screwing around)

People are angry that PGI is trying to balance population with game play.

PGI had a perfectly good system of Loyalty Point and C-Bill bonuses prior to the Tukayyid event.

Drop ship tonnages are for balancing game play for closer / more even matches. When the drops are 240 vs 240 the Clans win 60% of the time (a 20 point spread ) but when the drops are 250 vs 240 the Clans win 53% of the time (a 6 point spread )

PGI changing drop tonnages for a population issue is a BAD IDEA™

My drop deck can still house 3 JM6's so no QQ here. I'll downgrade my shadowhawk for a blackjack. 2500m+ gauss range and with the JM6 updates the A variant (for the 1st time in MWO history) is finally a useful mech. Especially with the removal of them horrible missile pods when not in use.

Lol all this whining is just to funny. The change will not affect the balance since per russ tweet only 35% of the IS goes over 240 tons per drop.

Just mean the Raven gets changed to a commando in the deck.So who is to blame PGI or the 65% of the IS who waste tonnage in CW and yes if I recall the IS did more overall damage during BoT.

Didn't say it was perfect, but it is an idea.
If the capture of planets or perhaps certain planets could influence the drop deck tonnage, suddenly there is an incentive for capturing those planets without having to introduce any new elements. Hell, perhaps this is a way to introduce different dropships and have multiple dropdecks.

We've seen from Tukayyid how many players could be involved in CW given a setup that brings people into the mode. The draw card there was the great big list of prizes and the story of Tukayyid itself.

The drop deck tonnage is one way to mix up the game play. It's an adjustable variable that can shake things up.
However, 10 tons doesn't really do that much so all I am seeing here is that it's a small test to see how it affects the decks.
This over-hyped reaction is not befitting any of you.

If anything, the lower limit will mean the use of some lighter mechs. As someone suggested, you trade a Thunderbolt for a Wolverine.
But as there is an absolute hoard of IS mechs to choose from and more on the way, perhaps it will make for a bit more variety.
It's been weeks/months now and I would bet many of you haven't changed the mechs at all. Try something different.
Get a grip.

Personally I think that at the moment, if the IS pushes the Clan out, let it happen.
We can then have a big counter attack to re-introduce them and in the meantime, the umpteenth succession war can get underway and perhaps we will see some full on house vs house conflicts going on.
IS seems so intent on fighting the Clan that this whole aspect seems to have been forgotten.

Seems like a good opportunity for some inter-house warfare

Until we see the introduction of stars instead of lances for the Clan and therefore a difference in players per team, the drop deck tonnage is really just a way to change which mechs might get taken.

ARE YOU INSANE? I don't EVER post. I find it unnecessary on most topics really. But I'm thinking you want a Clan vs. Clan game. Because those of us who regularly are loyal Spheroids are already getting kicked in the teeth. I was hoping you would reduce the Clans. Since they showed they can beat us like a rented mule at Tukkyiad, Something should be done yes but FFS NOT TO DROPDECKS we should get an increase or the Clans get a decrease. They are supposed to drop in sizes of 5 anyhow.
I also noticed 50-50 you play Clans. Let's see what you say after a few weeks of constant kicking in the teeth.

this is a short sighted "fix" to a short term problem, when the mercs are up for contract renegotiation and go clans is going to be the reverse of whats happening. . .

I fought for the IS since CW started and throughout the Tuk event, enjoyed the event (Well done pgi, was fun).
My unit switched to Clan after the event so our guys who'd payed/ground/EARNED their sweet clan tech could run them in CW for a bit. I want so see more CW stuff going on, I actually thought they'd limit the number of clan mechs in a drop to 10 per wave,
