You're reading the wrong threads. The accusations placed by the actual reporters were all about wallhacking, and multiple timestamps were shared.

This is a combination client-side / server-side game. The game server handles all the positioning and status information, while the PC you're playing it on handles all the rendering and game environment data. The packets of info your PC gets from the game server every so many microseconds contain data about where everything is and how it's doing. Your controls then provide input, the packets are modified, and you send them back to the game server.
PGI saves each game for a while, including all the packet transmissions to and from. These packets are what PGI will analyze for illegal behavior. They'll run both the outgoing and incoming packets through a bandpass or X-Or logic filter to see exactly what your PC instructed the game to do. This could be an automated process that flags suspicous behavior, or it could be kicked off manually. And I'm reasonably confident that PGI looks at more than a single match to make the determination.
Anything your PC told the game to do that the user interface does not allow you to do will be flagged. Fire through terrain, target an enemy you cannot see, gain the effects of cool-shots you do not have, correcting your aim every 3 microseconds throughout the whole match (faster than a human could do it)... etc.
It's a pretty straightforward process, the exact details of which would be proprietary info for any software company, but we don't need to know them if we have a general understanding of the process described above. I support their efforts to do so and I appreiciate their decision to do it all server-side as opposed to loading down our clients with extra cheat-detection processes (which we could then circumvent in an arms race).

Yes, there was more than reasonable suspicion to launch an investigation.
What many of you don't realize is that the player in question was someone that PGI wants to have around.
They have no reason to maliciously ban said player.
I am confident after watching the matches and knowing who the player is that this player would not have been banned if there was no hard evidence of cheating.
IKR.. why would they ban a paying customer if there wasn't good reason?

It's a bundle program of both MH and aimbot. There are videos floating around that show it in action.

For example, code that would cause bugs only for modified installations and whatnot. We all know how players love to come out in droves and complain about the tiniest bugs, and hackers are no exception. So, just lay the fake bug trap, wait until you've reeled in a good amount of complainers / confirmed their hax, and then you strike!
"To all cheaters experiencing bug code xxxxx: JOKE'S ON YOU!!! " *DELETE ACCOUNT*
Something like that maybe? Give dem uppity hackerz a taste of real humiliation. Just let them identify themselves! XD
They would never do a mass ban like that.. they will ban accounts ONE at a time, with the hope that the other hackers will step in line. For one, cheaters or not, these are still PAYING customers and money has power. Secondly, banning many ppl in one shot will cause panic among the players that cheaters are running rampant within the game.
This is why I have a feeling they have more players in their sights and not just this one 'sacrificial lamb.' They are waiting to see if they will re-offend before acting against them.

I preferred my first version too, but since the trolls in question have apparently developed a persecution complex, and since (ironically) I don't trust the forum moderators, I figured I'd remove the hilarious dig at their expense before someone tried to report it.

We should facilitate real sportsmanship spirit in our game, there is no place for cheaters. What those people did is highest disrespecttowards all of the community and devs hard work - it should be not be tolerated.
Victory is not everything guys, it does not taste sweet if achieved unfairly. Meanwhile, defeat with grace does not taste bitter - that what I learned over years of training in sports.

While you're gleefully starting another smear campaign against NKVA ......
That made me chuckle.......
I actually like having the NKVA around the boards as it gives the general community a bad guy to root against. And they make it so easy, like the heels on old time wrestling: The Iron Sheik, Nikoli Kolov, Barry O and Johnny K-9, or even better Rick Flair. You love to hate them but cant wait to read the next thing they say.
