[Shatter Shot]

While I am sure many of you still have this game tucked away... I always think of this soundtrack when I think of MechWarrior. Maybe some players that started with MW3 or later will enjoy it as well.

Damn it brings back so many memories haha, thanks for the nostalgia trip. I even had the mauler toy to go with it lol. I just hope MWO has a nice soundtrack like this. Fingers crossed.

The MW2 sound tracks were excellent. The original Quake game used to play whatever CD you had in the drive as a sound track - track 1 looping on lvl 1, track 2 looping on lvl 2 etc. I used to leave the MW2 CD's in the drive just to hear that great music while playing Quake.
I still have my MW2 discs - I need to dig them out and rip them to .mp3

I have close to a hundred games in my OST collection but I never got a MW title. Perhaps I should start hunting for the MW2 OSTs that were in my youth.

I've still got the CD for Mechwarrior 2, jealously guarded from all damnable Blakists who would rather nuke it. I ripped the soundtrack years back, it's been sitting in my successive computers ever since. If someone were to ask me what my favourite game soundtrack ever was - Well, there it is.

Also, if any of you want the actual Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries game - look for it on Abandonia.com. You have to burn an actual disk to get the soundtrack in game, and that also makes it much MUCH easier to run the game.

Either way, someday soon we'll all be in the Beta!

The original Mechwarrior 2 soundtrack is one of the best ever made for videogames imo.

I picked up the 3 MW2 OSTs and added them to my collection shortly after I got into this beta. I prefer the first 2 the most as I do not like rock music and that is featured in the Mercenaries one. I also enjoy the MechCommander OST but have yet to actually go get it. This one is pretty much absence from the internet. I'll most likely have to get the game running again then yank it out of the directory folders.(They are sitting right there in MP3 format per track if you have the game running) The issue with that however is that they are not named or in any organized order... so I'd have to basically build the track listings myself... which is what I did with Lost Kingdoms 1 and trust me, it wasn't fun. In fact I'm still putting off Lost Kingdoms 2 just because I don't want to go through all that again. The only upside is that once you do such a task you're one of the few people in the world with such an OST. I doubt there are many others out there with an organized Lost Kingdoms 1 OST folder.

I remember seeing MW2 / Mercs. in the store when I was young but I never picked it up.
It was either too expensive or such.

Listening to this soundtrack, I must say, is completely awesome.
It feels very reminiscent of late 80's early 90's heavy metal and the style of rock that certain videogames had back then.
