For some of you who don't know, and use an NVIDIA card, they have recording software you get with their GeForce Experience that is called SHADOWPLAY.

The nice thing with this is that you can set it up to buffer game play for varying amounts of time, from 1 to 20 minutes. Once set up you can play away to your hearts content and if you have a particularly good match, or perhaps notice a player who is "suspiciously" good all you have to do it hit a hot key and the past X number of minutes of video is automatically saved.

No need to record videos uselessly only to delete them.
No alt-tabbing and trying to set things up.
Easy Peasy.

Just thought that I'd mention this with all the concern over cheating these days as a method of collecting information to support any claims of suspicious activity.

That and...well All my videos make me look like I'm a hot damn player now. :D

OH ..if anyone can share with me the way to display youtube vids on this damn forum..that'd be appreciated. i always seem to screw that up

I just post the youtube URL directly into the post. No extra code tags or nothing. The forum software picks it up automatically.

Never heard of it.

What is the output of the files? (.mov, mp4 etc?)

Thanks for the tip.

not that much - for public queue it is comfortable since games only last 15 min and this is within the 20min max of shadow play.

I would like to have the feature for 35 min. So you also have it in cw matches lasting 30min. And as it stands you need to record the cw matches the normal style setting a start point for your record with the keybind and end it. Thats a minor isue, what makes the tool not so glorious.

It is mp4 for a good quality of a 30 min cw match i have a raw file of somewhat 6 gb to store (1440p native material rendering it later with video edit program for yt). So yeah you should have a ssd.

Bah. I see my GFX is not supported. Shame. Only for the newer series.

Shadow play eats my hard drive, so I just rely on my obs streaming.

Only Shadow mode has a 20 minute maximum. Manual recording has no limit.

It's the buffering which is so nice.

As to longer matches, perhaps they will increase the buffering time at some point, but until then you either have the manual option or simply save your first 20 minutes and carry on with the next buffered segment.

I haven't tested that, so i don't know if you can have seamless parts to the video between buffering but at most you might lose a minute or two of the match.

Shadowplay is nice. I use it a lot actually.
BUT. Shadowplay will not record if you play in Fullscreen Windowed.

The game must be in Fullscreen only.
This bothers me because I have dual monitors and Fullscreen windowed is easy to have the game still up on one screen while doing other stuff on the other.

One of my favoriate features that shadow play has is to record that past 5 minutes of gameplay,, or 10 minutes. So if something happens that you are in question about, or wanted to have recorded, you can just press the button and it'll save the past 5 minutes so you don't have to constantly record and record. It'll only ever use x amount of space and be there for when you need it.

It is also Win7 and up only compatible I believe. My GTX says incompatible with Vista running as OS.

GeForce Experience broke my stuff when I used it. Uninstall, things started working again.
