I think the term "clan" should be superseded by the term "unit", for the sake of confusion.

Using classic military unit names or designations such as Hussars, Guard, Lancers, Spears, Irregulars (from X-Laqs space), Hoplite, Auxilliaries, Cavalry or even Cossacks would be appropriate. Just do a little research and remember - Suspension of disbelief is okay, but not absurdity (like the 3rd Little Ponies Cavalry)

Avoid Clan designations like stars, points, galaxies, trinaries or binaries and also look into classic BT unit histories first.

I actually like that the Red Corsairs were posing as pirates, but were bad at it. They stole the name of an old pirate unit, flew the flag of a sailing pirate (the Jolley Roger), and tried decorating their rooms with treasure. The back story was that these clan warriors learned how to act like pirates by watching Inner Sphere holovids about them. But other than that, they basically acted just like normal clan warriors. Very unconvincing, no-one was buying it, but I thought it was funny the way they did the bare minimum to keep up appearances.

Yeah, but how do you really feel about it?

Something between, shock, disappointment, and unfettered rage.

Amarus it seems you missed my question. May I make some suggestions for the Smoke Jaguars?

Yes I completely missed it, please do. Though I cannot guarantee that it will be used, my ideas were already shot down in council ;)

Oh aff frantic but I dont think full the body tattoo of the Green Chicken was a good idea. Yeah it looks rafish, but I dont think the IS are quite that stupid, tho from some of their posts I could be wrong there.

Shoot.. That "chicken" is actually supposed to be a pirate ship...guess I shouldn't have tried to do a full body tattoo by myself with a needle...

I never would join the "Red corsairs". I dont like the way how stupid the clanners where shown, the nuke and the betrayel of the wolfs solahma unit was a bit too much for me.

So i will join some nice Steiner guys until the Falcons arrive in the Inner sphere. (Know your enemy!) :P
